Any official numbers? That'd be fantastic as I'd rather buy a PS3 anyway.PS3 has a waaaaaaaaay better SSF2THDR and SF4 crowd than X-Box though, easily. Everything else is totally more Xbox centric.
They only asked for $99 to fix my launch unit that got its first red ring after 3.5 years.Mine's dead and outside of the 3 year warranty so they want hundreds of dollars to fix it. So I gave all my games and shit to my brother. Fuck X-Box.

People love the 360 because it's a better system. Granted, the PS3 is more powerful, but most of the games that I've purchased that were cross platform had some issue or another on the PS3 that wasn't on the 360 version. Also, I personally have found that the 360's interface to be easier to navigate/use, and that's even counting the crappy new xbox wiixperience. Couple that with xbox having exclusives that I enjoyed (mass effect, fable 2, gears of war, crackdown) verus the PS3 exclusives I played (Lair, eye of judgment, metal gear cutscene, little big planet, resistance, infamous) never generated enough enjoyment to see them through - except infamous - which was an excercise in masochism at that point. It started off so awesome, and I just kept playing through all the poor design choices hoping it would return to its former glory. It didn't.They knew they were releasing a failure ridden wreck to the market, the higher ups just didn't care. And look, they have won the hardcore market and then some with this shit. People flock to the 360 and buy new ones when they break (back-ups) while waiting on the return of the old one. It's our fault as much as Microsoft's that they completely got away with this.
I love my PS3. It has Uncharted and it works...and has built in WiFi and is a bluray player.
So here's a question to you:People love the 360 because it's a better system. Which is not to say that I didn't enjoy them to some extent. Little big planet an infamous both had a first hour of gameplay that was an absolute delight, but somewhere between the 1 and 2 hour mark, LBP became a repeatfest and Infamous became masochism on a blu-ray disc. I'll also admit that I enjoyed watching metal gear cutscene online, but couldn't stomach the actual game when and if it poked it's head out of the cutscene. The disjointed gameplay to cutscene ratio was just to jarring - OK I'm ready to play, take 5 steps, codec call, take 5 steps, cutscene.
I know alot of times I might sound like a rabid 360 fanboy, but I can't stress enough that having sunk alot of cash into the PS3 that I tried and tried to like it, but could not.
EDIT: Just totalled up the cash I spent on the PS3 and peripherals...Right around $950...before tax. WOW.
No DVD player, HD output, or hard drive for media storage allows for a lower cost.I find it sad that a system like the Wii that has HALF it's cost, has more functionality than a system catered to the hardcore gamer base.
In the end, a game system's a game system. It's not like one has leaps and bounds over the other. So here's a question to you:
If someone has a powerful gaming PC. What reason would there be to buy an Xbox over a PS3?
With the exception of Metal Gear, I listed games that I actually purchased because they looked interesting. Ratchet and clank never kept my attention on the PS2, so I didn't bother with it. Uncharted I did hear good things about, but never played. God of War isn't out, so I couldn't play it (the previews do look good, though.) Is it possible that I only played every shitty exclusive? yes.Fable 2 apparently.
Though I do find it funny that in PS3 exclusives he lists Eye of Judgement and Lair but not the actual good games like the Ratchet and Clank series (easily one of the most fun platformers in existence), God of War and Uncharted.
That's kind of my point. Usually an Xbox "exclusive" can be bought and played on PC. Where as PS3 exclusives are just that.In the end, a game system's a game system. It's not like one has leaps and bounds over the other.
If you're not in for 360/ps3 exclusives, the best reason to get an xbox over ps3 is the games which are only released for consoles, and said titles usually being better on the xbox, as well as no install times when going to play a game.
On the other hand, PS3 has a blueray player, wifi and free net play, but the net play's not the best in some games, and in others the population's not high enough to warrant an attempt.
I know the blu-ray player carries alot of weight with some people, but the majority of the time I owned a PS3, I didn't have an HDTV, and when I finally got one, I couldn't bring my self to pay extra for higher quality, and just bought a DVD.
In its defense, it was the first, and there was no precedent for a console with built in wifi. as for a wii being half the price of a 360, where did you get a $100 wii? That's another thing that annoyed me with the XBox. It's the only one of the 3 that don't have Wifi ability by default, WTF. I hated dragging my 30 foot long RJ-45 across the damn living room everytime I wanted to go online... and NO, I'm not paying 50$ to be able to use Wifi. I find it sad that a system like the Wii that has HALF it's cost, has more functionality than a system catered to the hardcore gamer base.

What about Mass Effect? It's not as often as you think, and usually way later to boot. I wish that were the case though. I'd have never drifted from PC gaming if it was that way.
Edit: Now that I think of it, the only 360 exclusive I can think of that has seen a PC release was the original Gears of war, with CliffyB stating that we wouldn't see part 2 on PC.
