Games on SALE!

Dangit, I rarely game these days, let alone game on PC, so my Steam is rarely even loaded up. I woulda bought the heck out of Monkey Island 2. Damn.

Next time Steam has one of those big 'ol sales, someone lemme know, hey? I'm sure they'll have another pre-Christmas one like they did last year. *sob* That was bad. $20 got me about a dozen games in total.

The big Steam sale is usually post-Christmas, the last week of the year.

This is like the third time that MI2:SE has been on sale for $5. It'll definitely be on sale again. You should really check out this thread more often.

I loved the Journeyman Project 3 when I was a kid, but I seemed to be in a minority there. I've never played 2 though.

Today's Telltale Games deal is actually a game! Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People $9.95 If you're a fan of Homestar Runner, and haven't bought this one already, what are you waiting for? It's awesome and really captures the essence of the cartoons.

the pre-order today doesn't seem to include the card game.
Yeah, that does seem to be broken at the moment, Telltale will probably fix it soon. If anyone ordered it today and didn't get the card game, contact Telltale and I'm sure they'll make it right.

One of the Telltale staff has responded on their forums, "We're looking into it. Everyone who orders today WILL get the deal, I promise!"

So go ahead and order, if you want to, and you will get the card game, even if it doesn't show up on your order.

Steam is holding another contest: The Great Steam Treasure Hunt from Dec 6th - 20th Steam will be putting up objectives, 4 every 2 days. Completing objectives will enter you to win prizes. If you complete 10 of the objectives, and log into Steam on the 20th, you'll be entered to win 100 games of your choosing. If you complete any one of the 4 objectives in a given 2-day period, you'll be entered to be one of 20 people to win 5 games off of their wishlist.

The first set of objectives:
- Self Portrait: Setup an avatar on your Steam Community profile.
- Got Tanked?: Earn the Desert Fox Steam Achievement in R.U.S.E.
- Up the Ante: Win The Iron Curtain in Poker Night at the Inventory
- More Cowbell: Set a leaderbord score of at least 1,124,400 in easy mode for the 'Paul Hartnoll' level in Chime

The games on that list are on sale for 48-hours as well:
R.U.S.E. $33.49
Poker Night at the Inventory $2.99
Chime $1.25

Completing objectives can also earn you hats in TF2, with different hats earned at 5, 10 and 28 objectives.

That is kinda cool, but I am more likely to take advantage of the sales ;)

Fun times for the people who happen to have all the games that are needed to complete the objectives. I for one am not going to buy a game I'll never play again to be able to be entered into a lottery.

Yeah, same here, but setting up an avatar on Steam is pretty easy. I've had that done for years. Hopefully there will be at least one freebie in each group.

You'd think that Steam would skip Mid-week Madness, what with all the other sales going on, but no. Indie puzzle/strategy game Eets is just $2.50

O

Overflight

...I actually bought Chime both for the low price (1 FRIGGIN EURO) and to get the achievement. It's not bad, but if I were to describe it, I would call it "Like Lumines only less fun"

Grr, I keep trying to play The UnderGarden's demo, but it crashes on me before reaching the menu screen. Oh well, trying to load the game is apparently enough to the get the objective checked-off. Uh, yay?

You're not missing much. I played for about 2 minutes before deciding it wasn't worth it, even though it was free.

For anyone who bought the Humble Indie Bundle back in May, you can now register your purchase on Steam. Just log-in to your Humble Indie Bundle key page, and it will give you a code to register on Steam.

Edit: Apparently a Humble Indie Bundle 2 is also in the works. I've signed up to be notified so that I can mention it here, but if you want to sign up yourself head to The Humble Indie Bundle #2

Not sure if you mentioned this earlier or not... but Toys R Us has buy one get one 50% off on all video games right now. :)
Nope, hadn't mentioned that. I'm not very good at keeping up on brick & mortar and/or console sales. All contributions to this thread are much appreciated.

I've been remiss about posting this, but Amazon has been having huge sales that change every day as part of a "17 Days of Deals" promotion.

Today it's large selection of console and handheld games. Highlights include Legos games and Sonic Colors for the DS. Deals range from 25% to 50% off.

I'll post tomorrow's deals. They aren't always aimed at such a young audience.
