So basically the only show that I actually try to follow is starting up again tomorrow, and I can't wait for it. The Office is so excellent and there are many little facets I've noticed in my recent rewatch of Season 5 that I'm looking forward to seeing more of:

The Dwight/Erin/Andy Triangle
We've seen a bit of this in episodes during the MSPC arc, and it seems to be pretty ripe for comedy. Once again, Dwight and Andy seem to be romantic competitors, but this time they're both aware of it and are ALSO trying to maintain their own burgeoning friendship. Should be pretty good, especially since Erin seems to be oblivious so far.

New Friendships?
Oscar/Andy? Dwight/Angela? Andy/Kelly? Dwight/Phyllis? There were a bunch of little moments that happened in Season 5 that'd like to see expanded.

New Enemies?
Pam/Ryan? Dwight/Michael? Again, there's a lot they can do with the remaining fallout from the MSPC arc.

Pam as a Salesperson
With almost no training or experience, it'll be interesting to see how she fares, especially when she has to work with another salesman to get her training (ie. Dwight, Andy, Stanley?) Any ONE of these combinations could be funny. It could also be humourous to see Jim and Pam competing for a client, or something along those lines.

Chain of Command
Michael no longer worships David, Charles thinks Jim is completely incompetent, Dwight still might see Michael as a potential rival, etc. We could see a lot of corporate conflict in this next season.

Anyway, yeah. I'm excited. :D

Not so much excited as... worried.

I've mentioned this in another thread, but Jim and Pam haven't had any bad moments as a couple. Like, at all. Every episode that they're still completely lovey-dovey and have no problems, the eventual problem that I expect to happen worsens.

I kinda fear the worst at this point.

Stop being worried about Jim and Pam! You're making ME worry!

I think after 3 seasons of back-and-forth, will-they-won't-they, they're going to stay constant while all the other relationships are bumpy... or at least they should if they know what's good for them. :mad:

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Pam works out as a salesperson.

Angela and Dwight had one nice moment during the volleyball game that makes me curious about what will happen next.... and I REALLY wanna see more of Dwight's new best friend.

That's not gonna happen--once again, I've also had those fears from the last couple seasons, but its pretty clear that the writers are going for small problems rather than big overarching ones. They're bucking the trend, much like how they've bucked other soap-y moments in series past.

Exactly. I have no fear about the marriage or pregnancy thing at all because the writers have shown in the past they're fully aware of the typical cliches surrounding those subjects and how they've affected comedies. They'll handle it just fine, and it'll be hilarious.

SO. FRIGGIN'. EXCITED. Georgia Tech/Miami, the Office and Community, a 6-pack of Sam Adams Octoberfest. This is going to be a good Thursday evening.

That's what I think. That thing between Pam, her dad, and Jim seemed like the final big thing before I could just breathe a little sigh of relief.

Finally watched it. Once again I like how they turn the sitcom cliché on its ear. I was expecting to go at least half the season with them hiding Pam's pregnancy, and then they out her in the premiere. Awesome.

Also: YAY FOR A STANLEY SUBPLOT! Even if it was kinda sad, watching him confess to Michael was gold.

As for Community, I just know it would manage to piss me off so I'm avoiding it. :rolleyes:

Cause it pokes fun at community colleges? I thought it was funny, but I don't know how long it will last. Joel McHale is funny. I hope it opens more doors for him.

As for the Office, it was pretty good. I didn't laugh as much as I hoped for. Let's hope it picks up. Although, Andy's reaction to Jim's suggestion of having sex with a woman and then a man - killed me. :rofl:

This episode was pretty good, and even had some.... plot movement! Although Pam's subplot with the wedding invitations was kind of hit and miss. The cold open was amazing though.

As soon as he said "colonoscopy" I started giggling and I was just roaring by the time it was over. Steve Carell is a genius of comic timing.

Great! Agree with Charlie-- watching Pam freak out is excellent, because she's been so even for most of the show, even when something emotional is happening.

That thing at the end with Dwight? Classic.

I didn't expect Creed to side with Pam on the mom thing.

Last Thursday's office was one of the best episodes of the season. Steve Carrel did a fantastic job, as well as Oscar, whose little outburst "in character" was fantastic. Round that out with some great scene stealers by Andy, Creed and even Pam--with the mexican standoff at the end--and it was a really great episode. Can't wait to see how the gang deals with further economic downturn.

I love that Jim's a co-manager now. The episodes in the past where he's tried to take initiative (like the one where he tries to merge birthday parties) are great to me. It's always a humbling experience for him, and you can tell when he's thinking, "This isn't as easy as I thought." It makes him momentarily more patient of Michael.

I thought it was pretty smart of the writers to set Jim up for this eventual transition early on in the series. Looking at the past seasons its great to see the gears clicking and the sympathies slowly falling into place.

The one thing I DID hate, though--I really don't need another will they / won't they storyline. Let the Nard dog have his day, people. This ain't Shakespeare.

This season has been a little weak overall for me. I did LOVE last week's episode. But other than the Wedding and this episode, I honestly couldn't tell you anything that's happened, and there's been nearly 10 episodes I think.

Yeah this season has been a little slow overall, but then, I thought that of the 4th season too until I rewatched it.

One of the big things I loved about this episode is that Erin got a moment in "the confessional", talking with the camera crew.

It's like she's a real character now!

The Lover, when Pam finds out about Michael and her mom. Landmark episode, and we were just talking about that not 5 posts above yours. :p

Not to mention all the more confused as to how Michael, of all people, runs the office. But as he's taking lessons from Agent Scarn, the show seems to be pointing more and more towards Jim becoming a more socially adept Michael.

Pam in the Mexican Standoff was just pure gold. And you knew with Michael's love of guns from improv way back, that there was no way out for any of them except to be shot. :p

So does Creed return or has he just made the greatest exit for a character in a series ever?
