I at first was going to do a scary/horror story contest but we just did a creative writing contest. I could still do that but it would leave out those who do not write.

So what are some good ideas? Costume contest? Pictures of the best costume wins?

What do YOU guys think would make a fun contest for October?

Body count. Not talking creativity or quality of the target, just sheer numbers.

A Twitter horror story contest? I am intrigued! Think more people would get into that than a costume contest?

If we go costume we can always use Twitter stories for November.

Ideas, people!

So where would we want the $100 gift cert to be from? Amazon? I want ANYONE to be able to use this.

I think they are both good ideas. Why not break up the gift card and have two contests?

I might even break down and do a twitter thing because the idea is just unique and intriging enough, and I hate twitter.
Are you gonna double entry with Yavaux ? :p

...that sounded so wrong....
...or does it?[/QUOTE]

LOL, ya, it sounded wrong, but aside from that...

I would never double enter a contest. Besides, I'd never get away with it, everyone here knows very well that Yavaux and I are forced to reside within the same body.

Now on the other hand, I would not put it out of the realm of possibility that I would utilize both names to do a Jekyll and Hyde type thing.

Well, I mean, you have the 140 characters to try to convey a scary story. it is simple, anyone can do it at no cost, and fun. I really like the idea a lot.

Costume Contest for October, Twitter story for November.

Here's an idea for December: Worst Gift Received contest. It doesn't have to be a christmas present (So people who aren't christen can enter) but you need a photo with you holding the gift and it has to be a gift YOU received. Alternatively, a Worst Holiday Ever story contest, where all you need to do is recount your worst holiday experience (again, doesn't have to be Christmas).

"The Last Man on Earth sat alone in a room. Someone knocks on the door." World's shortest scary story.

Thats actually not too bad a one. thats the point, to try to convey the emotion in as little as possible. does not jsut have to be scary, could be halloween themeed. that openes it up more to humor, drama, anything, including scary stories.

Look at penny arcade and their wow story in 7 words contest. Some of those entries were fantastic. I really am all for the 140 character or less twitter story contest. It is great, and I think you might get a lot of different entries to be judged.

Sounds like that's the winner, then. So where should the prize come from? If Best Buy is not available outside the US would Amazon be better?

Or should it be a $100 certificate from the online store of your choice?
