Pro wrestling manager and Cyndi Lauper's "Dad" in the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun video, has died at the age of 76.

He helped bring about the first big resurgence of pro wrestling in the mid 80s. His beef with Lauper set the stage for the first Wrestlemania.

RIP Captain Lou

Shame.

Though it is at least a relief to see news of someone involved in the wrestling business passing on at a ripe, old age...for a change.

Well, good on him for outliving the current wrestling age expectation by about 38 years.

RIP Cap'n Lou. You'll always be Mario to me.

His big time was just before I started getting into wrestling, but it doesn't make it any less sad. He was such a greatly recognizable character that I instantly recognized him.

One of the most entertaining managers in the biz. At least you lived a long life, Lou. The business is a sad state when someone dying of old age is a rarity.

Remember He and his wife got married on TV and everyone got them rubber bands as wedding presents. Of course in traditional 80's fashion the wedding decintigrated into an all out brawl. Classic WWF

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

._.

I want to give him a 1up Mushroom and then dance the night away

He was the Godfather before there was a Godfather. Great tag team wrestler turned fantastic manager.

And a pretty good singer;
