Soliloquy

So Dave's obviously under a lot of stress right now, and the vast majority of it is our fault.

I think that it's important to take the time to remind Dave that we enjoy this forum, we want him to succeed, and that the majority of us are sorry about the excessive drama that has been going on here as of late.

I'd also like to give a more specific thanks to Dave: A while back, he helped me put together my resume. I was fresh out of college, I had no idea what I was doing when writing the thing, and I had a strong feeling that I wouldn't be able to land a job without figuring out how to make my resume effective.

Thanks to him, I'm now set to take part in a fellowship where I'll be covering the legislature up in Carson City for the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity.

So, I hope you all will join with me in saying that, Dave, we want this forum to thrive. We support you in your efforts to shape this place into a community that people will want to come and join. A lot of good has come from the community here, and a lot of good still can.

I like to thank Dave for actually maintaining this forum and trying to keep it alive. It is a lot of work. I thank you. I helps me get through the day.

I was going to send him a PM, but I have no problem making my love for him public.

As a newer person to this site (I was on Halfpixel) I'd like to thank Dave for all the work he has done. It took me a while to find this place and if he hadn't kept it going this whole time I may never have.

Dave,

Without you, I would be out there, making my weirdness known to people who might not approve of it. On this forum I hear about interesting and cool stuff, learn about new shows and good games, and meet interesting and funny people who are welcome to my couch.

There's only one problem: one of us has to get to the other so I can buy you a beer.

Dave's one of my favorite people on this earth. He's pretty much the most stand-up guy I know and I would happily follow him to hell and back. Possibly to hell and not back.

I hope his geriatric ass doesn't die before I get married, cuz I fully intend on flying him out and hiring him to DJ my wedding. =P

Seriously Dave, you are in my top 3 best people I know. I don't know where in the top three, but you're there.

I've been a bitch sometimes but I love this place and the community you brought together when you started this place was amazing. It might be waning for one reason or another right now, but these things always get better.

I think what Dave did for this community is all kinds of awesome. The thought of the community scattering after the Halfpixel debacle was pretty sad to me and he made it so that it wouldn't come to pass. For that I'm eternally grateful.

Don't let the current climate of hostility and adversity keep you down, Dave. There are people here with you every step of the way. Myself included.

Dave's name is getting overused. It's starting to sound like a household cleaner to me.
