I think she knows exactly what she's doing, and again I cite the fact that her stage name is taken from a song all about mindless drivel music. It'll be interesting to see where she goes, though. I doubt she'll remain a pop girl for too long, and she's exactly the kind of musician one can expect a long and interesting career from.Or she has no idea and is only a shallow marketing product. It's probably a bit early to tell.

He is just showing his poker face. [/QUOTE]I go from bubblegum pop to funeral death metal, so yeah... I don't shove myself in a little box and cry that everything outside of it is trash.

I've got everything from System of a Down to Chemical Brothers to Tinwhistler's Paddy Gone Wild to World of Warcraft soundtracks. And then like 5 gigs of podcasts.I've always found it odd that people get uppity and whatnot when someone likes more than one genre of music. As an example, I have Sinatra, Dean Martin and Glenn Miller on my iPod, but at the same time there's Foo Fighters, Incubus and System of A Down. I've got Cake and The Pixies, but I've also got the Lord of the Rings soundtracks, Queen and Van Halen.
I do that sometimes just to see what's the weirdest transition I get.Putting my iPod on shuffle would be very confusing.
Nice post Tin! I'm totally your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me.

Posting doesn't pay the bills. Sometimes you gotta show a little pink.I remember when tinwhistler used to be about the posting.

You're sort of a hero of mine right now. Crying with laughter, here.I introduced my first girlfriend in college to Tin's original postings. Even though they weren't really her thing at the time, she thought they were really quirky and edgy, not like the rest of the Net.
Over time, as we grew closer, Tin's old material became a touchstone for our relationship as we consoled ourselves over non-$tarbucks imitation-Euro lattés that the mainstream market just couldn't handle Tin's forum feedback fashion.
Then things started to change. All of a sudden, it seemed, Tin wasn't responding to the denizens of the net with as much passion as he used to; he spent all his time responding to people, explaining his thoughts calmly and rationally.
My GF began to change around the same time. At first, she waved it off, saying she was just too tired, but eventually, I learned the truth; the sense of obnoxious self-righteousness we had come together over had been muted.
We broke up years ago over Livejournal. I poured my heart and soul into a post that expounded every detail and flaw, explaining how we could just make it work if only we could recapture our spark of petty self-obsession.
She wouldn't even passively-aggressively respond, let alone write an entry of her own.
We don't stay in touch any more. She sends me regular emails asking me how I am, or funny examples of Tin's latest work, but I can't look at them because I know they're lies.
Every so often, I come across Tin's posts on my own, and as the revulsion forces me to close my eyes, all I can see in my mind is a cold, undrunk non-$tarbucks latté.
Where was that Orson Scott Card hate-on thread... I know it was around here somewhere...Yeah, exactly. if I stopped listening to music because of the artists' personal beliefs or someshit I'd have a every quiet house. No thanks. I can separate the art from the artist.
