I dunno, these last few weeks of PvP have made me laugh a lot more often than not. Not sure what happened. Maybe it just took him a long time to focus on improving his art, and now that it's pretty much stabilized he's focusing more on humor.

I think the funny ones have been the individual or short storyline strips rather than his "epic" storylines though.

Supposedly it's less of a PC and more of a media tablet. They also are said to have deals with text book publishers to have their books available for it with added content. Depending on how much it is, and how much the books run, that alone could get it some decent sales.

Thought they were going to call it a slate due to the former "Tablet Flops"?

And if it didn't fail to fit pretty much any niche that wasn't filled by bicycles, scooters, or electric wheelchairs.

I also liked Maddox's solution to engineering the complex electronic gyro mechanism. Rip out all the electronics and replace with a small tailwheel.

That's exactly why tablets keep failing. They don't do anything that a notebook doesn't. I don't know why companies keep pushing these damn tablets. The only 'tablets' that come close to anything practical are notebooks with the flip screen that turns it into a tablet.

So it's going to be a triple priced Kindle? I suppose having an all-in-one media center: phone, internet, book yadda, yadda is nicer than dragging around a blackberry and a netbook. Wait, no it isn't.

I've learned that anything that doesn't flip open will get scratched all to hell in my hands and I don't care for touchscreens. Tablets just don't do it for me at this point. I'd just get a MacBook Air instead.

iPad.... for that time of the month.
Last night my 2-year-old daughter came out of the bathroom holding a box of pads and said "These are mommy's diapers".

It would have changed everything if it didn't cost as much as a small car.
And been immediately outlawed from most of the sidewalks, by cops who didn't want to have to deal with the things.
And if it didn't make you look like a complete tool.

Well... maybe that's not true. The bluetooth headset caught on...

It has a book like leather cover for it.

So you don't get camera or phone support for this thing? Which means that people will still need their iPhone. Why not just have a Blackberry/netbook for a fraction of the price?

It can only have 16 or 64 gigs on content? when will Apple learn that flash memory is cheap?
Seems like it has to be using flash memory to be that thin. The question is, why are they still keeping the GBs so low?
So you buy the iFannypack to store you iFlash 250 gig that matches the iDouche sunglasses with an iPod built into them.

They charge $200 to upgrade $15 worth of flash memory (flash at retail prices.)
At this point I think Steve Jobs needs to introduce iBank the Apple system where fanboys can just wire up their bank accounts to Apple's finance department.

I get what you mean there. They don't put in an expansion slot either for even a microSD card. As slick a product as it is, it might be worth waiting a generation or two. Though as a low-end terminal that can do internet, documents, media, and presentations, I might still go for it eventually.

I don't really know where to put this, or how to word the joke, so I'm just gonna predict the next big Apple product targeted towards pirates: The iPatch.

I'm amused by the image of this thing ringing and someone holding it up to their head.

It's to normal people what the iPhone is to midgets!

( I'm going to Hell for that one, ain't I? )

(( and by Hell I mean listening to the Lovely Boner lecture me ))

((( I really don't wanna be lectured by a boner )))

(((( and now I'm gonna have a nightmare like that ))))

Whats it for? I can't think of any discernible use for a giant iphone that you can't already do on an iphone.....You know accept for video games. Personally I've never felt comfortable playing games on an iphone.

Edit: Ok it does look pretty cool. Its like its right between a laptop and a cell phone. I can see this being more comfortable to check your email and surf the web than a cell phone while being slightly more portable than a laptop. Not sure there is a real necessity for it. Looks like the sort of thing only serious technophiles would buy.

Edit 2: Edit rising: As a student I could probably really use this. Except...you know...students don't have money.
