Favorite Album? For you, I've got 25! I did this last year in September or so. And it actually might have changed a bit since then. But I think it's mostly the same as this here:

2112 by Rush. Not just for the epic 2112 (Discovery, Presentation and Oracle are my favorite movements) but for the other side as well, Lessons, Twilight Zone, A Passage to Bangkok, Tears and Something for Nothing. Yes, Moving Pictures is the one that most would answer with, but 2112 is by far my favorite album by anyone, ever. From quiet acoustic to roaring rock, this album has it all, and some great lyrics to boot with all the songs.
Probably Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.

Rush is my favorite band, but none of their albums rank as my favorite. Even if one did, 2112 ranks far higher than Moving Pictures for me, although I think Vapor Trails beats it out too.
My favorite album, however, would probably by unknown by anyone outside Canada, and likely even most Canadians. It's one of the following:

For my all-time favorite, I'm going to have to go with Mothership Connection by Parliament. Clinton and co really hit their stride with this one. Conceptually, I don't know if it's as quite awesome as the heights they would go on to reach with Funkentelechy, but it was here that they introduced Star Child and other concepts, besides of which musically it's amongst the strongest and funkiest stuff they did. Bootsy's expert bass-popping is all over it, and Maceo and Fred Wesley's horn section keep it tight and funky throughout. Vocal-wise, Clinton is in fine form spitting out his intergalactic spoken raps and punchlines, and Glen Goins, arguably the best singer in the vast P-Funk army, shines on the titular track as well as others including the often-overlooked but nonetheless excellent Unfunky UFO. The guitars are funky, the drums are funky, Bernie Worrell keeps it real on tracks like Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication, and Clinton's brings his best wacky chants on Night of the Thumpasorus Peoples.
Hmmm, this is tough.

I don't think I can say favorites but I can say the ones that are most important to me I think (in no real order of importance):

2) Smashing Pumpkins - Pisces Iscariot
3) NIN - Pretty Hate Machine
4) Ministry - Psalm 69
5) The Cure - Disintigration
6) The Pixies - Surfer Rosa
7) Radiohead - Kid A
8) Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
9) NIN - The Fragile
10) Jesus and Mary Chain - Automatic

Radiohead - OK Computer,
Though it's very very hard to pick just one, and Kid A is a close contender. One thing I love about Radiohead is that they're one of the few bands left that make real ALBUMS anymore. By that I mean ones that demand to be listened from start to finish in their proper order, with songs that culminate into a cohesive whole, and not just being a collection of tracks. So when for whatever reason the subject of best album or best albums come up, Radiohead always instantly comes to mind for me. Also just when I feared they might start slipping with Hail to the Thief (There were some good tracks but just didn't seem to be up to the quality of their last few cds) They hit it out of the park with In Rainbows.
Also, Juski's picks are very close to what I would put as some of my top albums. Especially Neutral Milk Hotel.

Side B of that album is pretty much perfect, and Side A is nearly so. Should also add that I love the bass on Cosmetics and Desperate.

Really the same with me. There was a period in high school where I discovered Radiohead, The Pixies and a a great indie band from the late 90s / early 00s called The Dismemberment Plan around the same time. Those three bands in conjunction literally changed my taste is music overnight. And then shortly after I discovered Modest Mouse

OK Computer was the CD that got me way into Radiohead, and one of those cornerstone moments. It was Doolittle (see: the dead arm that is my subsection of the forum) that really kicked my rock n' roll sensibilities back in high school. Since then there's been a few, the last major one being DFA 1979's You're a Woman, I'm a Machine and possibly The Japandroid's Post Nothing. God those are stellar albums. I think I'll go listen to the latter right now!
