Rant VI: Now Drama Free

Thanks all. It's tough to reconcile right now. I wasn't especially close with him but I know I'll miss being able to see him whenever I travel back to visit the rest of the family, including for the wedding.

Just found out my grandfather passed. I was going to see him next at my wedding in two weeks.

Not really a rant but a general observation.
I'm on a 2 week vacation in Jaco, Costa Rica with the fam. Rented a nice 3bdrm condo in a gorgeous area and it's been a great, semi-relaxing vacation.
I'm trying to avoid work-contact but that's well-nigh impossible. I'm glad I brought a laptop for my studies but the urge to check work email is always overwhelming and for whatever reason, my staff are emailing me and asking questions which I guess is just part of the responsibility of being a boss. Of course, when they get the read receipt, they email me to stop reading emails. STOP SENDING THEM THEN.
The issue is my family - specifically my mother and father. They are not good tourists - or rather they are the stereotypical tourists: loud, annoying, ignorant. Coupled with a constant battle of blame for when things go wrong, it's all I can do to maintain my sanity. Bless them for staying away from the wife and I for the most part and allowing us to do our own thing. I spend most of my time wakeboarding and the wife hangs out at the pool while the rest of them toddle into town for things to buy. I'm so accustomed to living alone with the wife that I'm definitely not used to having other people around, regardless of them being family. We're fortunate enough to have a large bedroom and ensuite bathroom to ourselves but...walls are thin. ADAM SMASH! The preponderance of morning and afternoon sex underscores that point. It's the only time we're relatively alone. I've taken to downloading movies to the laptop and taking some quality time alone in our room just to 'escape'.
I'm trying to pick up as much Spanish as possible while I'm down here. Similarities to French make it a lot easier to learn vocab, and you can usually fake your way through the grammar. My father has a grossly overconfident view of his Spanish abilities and my mothers reliance on him for words gets them quickly into trouble when not in ear shot.
They like to wave at taxis as they pass, wondering why the taxis turn around and try to offer them a ride *sigh*.
They also like to yell at the Policia as they drive by. (I am not paying out bribes to keep them out of the clink)
They also constantly bitch about how expensive things are. Like a steak.

It's not Texas (Or Alberta for that matter). I can't stress that enough but they refuse to understand.
Ah well. I turn off the brain, head into the surf and get smashed around a bit by some great waves. If it wasn't for the sunburn I got right away, I'd probably enjoy myself more.
Another 10 days to go.

My roommate's former roommate (who I replaced) threatened legal action against the company to take her name off the lease. They balked, took her name off the lease. So, basically, we have two options: move out by May 1 or show proof that we can pay the rent for the next year (either have $12,000 in the bank or paycheques that prove we can pay rent).
Which, being students, just isn't possible for either of us.

Okay, got a viewing tomorrow for a bachelor. $550/month with everything included, even laundry and internet. Furnished, too. If I get it, I think I'll get a hide-a-bed to have a little more room in the place.

Well, shit. My computer has been acting up the last few days. Little things, really. I'd get up and it wouldn't respond from sleep mode so I'd have to restart, little crashes of Fire Fox here and there. Well, today it finally happened. A BSoD. I don't know if my computer is long for this world. I'm currently scanning for viruses, will be running some diagnostics and defrags to try to slow the process. Hopefully I will be able to slow the process down enough until I can afford a new one, though that might be pushing it.

Bloody Friday. I have the entire weekend off (THANK YOU OLYMPICS ENDING!) and everyone I know is working or busy with something else tonight, including my girlfriend who has a delightful 12 hour night shift. So, here I am, first Friday off in God knows how long, sitting by myself, in my underwear, posting on Halforums. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay....

Well, it happened. The computer kinda a brick. I just moved everything over now. It takes me 10 minutes to open a new window for Firefox. Performing simple functions take just as long. Opening a folder, same. However, Skype opens at lightning speed 
So now I have a $400 laptop that does what the other one does. Dammit anyways. I hate moving all my crap over.

I don't have anything to rant about really so I just wanted to make a follow up to a previous "rant".
Today, my mom replaced my loofa so Im happy.
Actually I have nothing to complain about whatsoever. Today I ate lunch with my mom and we had margaritas then I got my brows waxed and my hair cut so I feel like a million bucks. Then I got my luffa and some new clothes. I am super happy!
