I like Blues but I couldn't, if pressed, list off good blues, or even particularly well known and successful blues artists. I just like it when I hear it.

So Halforums, elucidate me. I know I tend to particularly enjoy the New Orleans sound if that inspires anyone.

Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, and BB King all come to mind when I think of Blues artists.

All the above.

I'll ad Robert Cray (for some one still putting out new music) and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Eric Clapton

and some Later Hendrix, he was headed to a more traditional sound when he died.

Lotta the big names already mentioned, but I'll add Albert King and Freddie King to complete the "Three Kings." Sorry, don't know enough about blues to be familiar with the New Orleans sound.

Neither am I, really, but the other day I mentioned something I liked and my dad said "You seem to like New Orleans blues." I don't really know what that assessment means, but I'm willing to trust his assessment.

Thanks everyone! I will definitely look these up and buy some albums.
