Half of those are completely untrue. Our cats look happy quite frequently, and beg to play with us sometimes.
When my sister was a baby my mom had a cat named Tigger, who was a huge long-haired orange tabby. Tigger was super-protective of my baby older sister. He'd curl up with her when she napped, and one day when my mom was changing her, my mom caused my sister to cry. Hearing my sister crying, Tigger leapt onto my mom's back (even though he loved my mom) and tried to protect a little baby.

My cats are friendly and love to play, almost too much since Evil died.
Oh and foster does tricks. He fetches and he rolls on his back when you say "who wants a belly rub". More than our dog Sissy does.
And the argument about making the house stink wtf. Garbage makes the house stink too if you let it pile up. It's called scooping the cat box and it is not a difficult thing to do.

Well what it is is babies are warm so sometimes cats sit on them because they like the warmth. We had a cat who would lie on my baby sister and suck on her nose. Haha. Never killed her though... or this story wouldn't be funny at all!

Of course I am joking. Dogs kill tons of children. Feral dogs are the worst, they are bad enough threats that some counties pay bounties for killing them.

I don't hate cats anymore, after living with two (neither belong to me, they are the rommates'). I would still prefer a dog, though. Especially since I feel like I practically take care of these cats anyway.

I like cats because besides feeding and litterbox care they are pretty self maintaining. My dogs are really a lot of work sometimes.
