Is Led Zeppelin the name of a band or an artist? DO NOT USE GOOGLE.

Answer wisely.
Do I have to answer this? I feel as though it might incriminate me to admit that I'm not familiar with the band. I do know that it's a band, but I only know one song by them. Guess which :p

Ooh, Bartimaeus Trilogy? Good taste. Ever read the Mortal Engines Quartet, by Philip Reeve? If not, do so. It rapidly superseded Bartimaeus as my favourite YA series - the finale in particular is excellent.

Oh, and another question pertaining to your continued survival on these boards: Pratchett. Like or dislike?

Lastly, as a self-evident geek, have you ever delved into the anime side of things? Any shows/movies in particular?

OK my turn for a question... do you play truth or dare?!
Truth or dare always seems to end with me not wearing pants.

I haven't read that series, but I've been looking for something new to delve into recently. I'll have to check it out.

I have honestly never read anything by Terry Pratchett. I plan on reading Good Omens soon, as I love Neil Gaiman's work.

As for anime, i haven't gotten into it much. I did watch the entirety of Avatar: the Last Airbender though. Does that count as anime?

Who is Les Nessman? WHO IS LES NESSMAN?!?

You lost every cool point I had given you.
But.. but...

I was born in 1988....

I come from the Nick@Nite generation. You know, that group of kids who find Fresh Prince of Bel Aire to be "old school".

Fresh Prince is totally old school, by the way.

(1) Happy to help. I believe it's referred to in the U.S. as the Hungry City Chronicles, if you have difficulty finding it.

(2) Good choice. It's an excellent book, and a nice introduction to Pratchett. He is, of course, most famous for the Discworld series, and those are indeed a lot of fun. However, I must warn you that the quality drastically increases as the series goes on, and you may wish to avoid the early ones, like the Colour of Magic and Equal Rites, altogether. The individual books are sufficiently self-contained that this won't result in you missing out on much, though it's still a good idea to read in publication order. There are a bunch of different continuities at work within the series, and that's probably the best way to experience them.

(3) 'Fraid not. Animesque, though, certainly. Given your fondness for Heroes, I would seriously advise giving Darker than Black a go. It has an intriguing plot, great music, and even a rather good English dub. All in all, a quality show. In fact, if you want info on where to track it down, just send me a PM.

Welcome.

Sit a spell. Learn. Share. Create. And maybe engage in a little syzygy with the locals. It'll be a lesson for all of us.

You remind me of one of my best friends from high school so I don't care that you don't know who Les is. =)

Led Zeppelin on the other hand... tsk tsk tsk.

That's like the girl a few years ago at my work who said, "I didn't know Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings!"

Paul McCartney? That vegetarian advocate? What's he doing in a band? :wtf:

It's like hearing Avril Lavigne is actually the gourmet chef at a Michelin three star restaurant.

Oy, that's my schtick, mate :p

Ever travelled abroad? Travelling over state lines doesn't count, nor does travelling with a broad domestically.[/QUOTE]

Only Canada and Mexico :p

I used to live in Arizona when I was younger (about age two to ten), and I know that I went to Mexico on vacation a few times there with my parents. I don't remember much of it, only that the food was weird (but tasty).

When I lived in Toledo, Ohio for school I went to Canada every few months because we could drink there legally. I don't remember it, only that I tried poutine when I was hung over and I was rather disappointed. Poutine is a popular food in Canada that consists of thick cut french fries, cheese curds, and beef gravy. It wasn't bad, really, just too salty.

So, I guess that almost counts. Sort of...

After graduation I plan on doing a little bit of traveling. I would love to see the pyramids, and I definitely want to see the Colosseum. Stonehenge is on my list, as is the Great Wall of China. I'd like to get wasted in Amsterdam, drink a beer in Munich, get held up at gun point by a lovable stranger in Stockholm, and I'm adventurous with food so I'd like to explore a bit with that too. In fact, my main preoccupation with traveling the globe would be to try local cuisines.

Led Zeppelin on the other hand... tsk tsk tsk.
I know a bit about Led Zeppelin, I just never personally listened to much of their stuff. It was always more of a, "Hey, who's this on the radio? They're good." --- "Dude, that's Zeppelin". ---- "Oh? OH! I like them."

And my interest never really progressed past that.

Actually, I wouldn't even bother learning a few people's names around here, they change them every few weeks due to some pointless forum add-on that allows them to change names.

Hi gothomo.

what is an 'omo' and better yet what is a goth one?

what is an 'omo' and better yet what is a goth one?
"Gothomo" is a portmanteau of "Gothtard" and "Homo". My comic features a gothic woman and a gay man as the main characters. Hence. gothomo. The original title when I first started writing scripts for it was, "Gothtard and the Homo", but the domain was too long.

You may vehemently dislike me, but I have fallen in love with you and will be posting around these parts from now on.

Trolling and name-calling. One infraction given.

OHH! That makes a lot more sense, hahaha. I get it now. I'm really new to this forum, I appreciate the help. I assumed that Chaz was pretending to be a moderator.

The problem is, Chaz, that you directly attacked someone who was not currently in the conversation. Were you and Amy going back and forth good naturedly saying the same thing nothing would have been done. Instead, you felt it was necessary to call her names. You don't have to like each other, but you WON'T follow each other from thread to thread poking and prodding to get a reaction. I stand behind NR.

And any more PMs like that to my mods and I'll ban your ass myself.
