Kickassia Trailer

May 17th (through the 22nd for other videos)

Good gravy this looks awesome. Epic crossover event. Nostalgia Critic, Nostalgia Chick, Spoony, Linkara, LordKat, Benzaie, Handsome Tom (and 8-bit Mickey), Paw, The Cinema Snob, Lee, Jew Wario, Marzgurl, Phelous, Film Brain and more. Plus lots more crossover videos made during the get together. (I didn't see Little Miss Gamer, though.)

Also, Spoony is working on a "Deadliest Warrior" parody called the Deadliest Character. First up: Mechagodzilla Vs. Power Rangers Megazord, crossover with Linkara. Other ideas (from the end of the recent Vlog, spoilers)

Sherlock Homes vs The Terminator, Judge Dredd vs Bugs Bunny, ???? vs Alien, Ghostbusters vs Black Lanterns, Ash (Army of Darkness) vs Captain Kirk.

Man, that Linkara guy is the worst. He reminds me of the kinds of people you see hanging out in EB Games pestering the clerks about how they'll never need to buy memory cards again.

*shrug* I like Linkara. :)

As for Kickassia? I don't know. I didn't like the big, epic fight video that they whole team put on a year or two ago. I don't watch EVERYONE on that site. Just Nostalgia Critic's stuff, Nostalgia Chick, Linkara and Spoony. All the others, I have absolutely no idea and frankly, don't really care.

Lord Kat is ok, for what he does. But yeah, it's mainly Spoony, Linkara, NC, NChick, and AVGN (even if he's not affiliated.)

And AVGN only updates monthly now, though if the newest vid is any indication it's worth the wait. Besides being a 30 minute review, it was one of the better ones, too.

I'm in the same boat of really only caring with NCritic, NChick, Spoony, and Linkara. Benzaie is funny when I see him in the others' videos though.

I love that Critic is wearing an M. Bison outfit.

I also mostly check out the Nostalgia Critic, the Nostalgia Chick, Spoony and Linkara. The Cinema Snob can also be pretty good to watch.

Also love that the Critic is decked out in M. Bison apparel and that Linkara is dropping Patton references.

His next episode is going to be the final Action 52 game, Cheetahmen, which is notoriously shitty but with a KILLER song for the game. He'll probably do the unreleased sequel in the same episode, since it was found somewhere and turned into a ROM. However, i think the main reason he's only doing one a month now is because he's working on stuff for Cinemassacare.

Can't wait for this. Should be a blast.

Personally, I haven't watched too much of Linkara's stuff, he's okay though. Mostly I stick to the Critic and the Chick with occasional forays into Linkara and Film Brain. And of course I watch everything Spoony and James Rolfe put out on their respective websites.

I always feel like I should check out more Benzaie.

Oh I know, he's also still doing Board James here and there too. Action 52 was definitely one of my favorite reviews, though.

Outside of him all I've checked lately is NCritic and Spoony. Linkara gets on my nerves for some reason, and NChick I've just lost interest.

I don't watch everyone. I do follow quite a few regularly: Nostalgia Critic (but not Ask That Guy or Videogame Confesssion), Spoony, Linkara, LordKat, Pixels as Big as Cats, Litte Miss Gamer and Obscurus Lupa.

The others are hit and miss, here's a rundown of what I've seen:

Paw - Excellent Let's Play of King's Quest V, but his music coverage doesn't really interest me. He's got a nice style, and I really like that when he does countdowns, he doesn't use the same music snippet for every single freaking number on the countdown (like the NC and others tend to)

Still Gaming / Lee - Meh, I'll take him or leave him. Great enthusiasm, but his game coverage leaves little lasting impression. His Let's Plays are terrible.

Pixels As Big As Cats / Dena - I like her videos because she reminds me of an old friend and she chooses fun games to cover. Her Let's Play of Resident Evil was nice, but a little sparse on humor and snark at times.

Film Brain - desperately needs a writer. His delivery is good, but his material is not. He needs a wordsmith to help him with his opinions.

The Cinema Snob / Brad Jones - great delivery and humor, for most of his stuff, but he covers material I don't have any interest in or am outright repulsed by. Also, I find his "Big Box" and "Kung Tai Ted" videos boring.

Angry Joe - awful. His timing, his delivery and his writing all stink. I don't get why anyone watches him.

The Distressed Watcher - AAAAAGH! I started one video of his and I don't think I finished. He's a grating long-winded whiner who should shut up.

MarzGurl - bland.

JesuOtaku - Not bad. I enjoy her videos. Though, as with many other reviewers, she should probably do more takes to get things right and avoid major flubs. She should also avoid making points about things she doesn't know about. Either do your research, or don't make definitive statements. Do not do a whole episode critiquing a characters statements about science and technology if you don't know enough about the subject to be sure the character is certainly spouting nonsense.

Benzaie - Funny, when he's doing reviews and top lists, but his reporting and news videos are lacking in any real content or commentary. I hope he gets back to his Let's Play of Heavy Rain soon.

Jew Wario - hit and miss. Sometimes good, more often rambling and never getting around to any point.

Mike J TV / Shameful Sequels - pretty good reviews with mostly great jokes, but please stop with the creepy movie review schtick! All reviewers need to stop this trying to be pervvy or "secretly" psychotic or whatever joke references they're making to sleeping with relatives, drugging girls at bars or whatever. (at least during movie reviews). If you're going to be bashing a bad movie, you need to be the hero, or at least better than the movie you're trashing.

Good grief there are a lot of people making videos on that site. Even with comments on all the ones I remember watching videos from, I still don't think I've covered even half.

I'm looking forward to this thing. I think it looks hilarious even though I only watch Spoony, The Critic, The Chick, and Linkara. Whenever the other contributors cross over I find them funny. And if I don't know much about them, Channel Awesome has a wiki for easy reference.

Spoilers are available on the Republic of Molassia's website...written as a press release about an actual invasion.

I've only found that shtick to work for RedLetterMedia (the guy who does the movie-length reviews of the Star Wars prequels). Maybe because while others make it as jokes that sound inappropriate, he turns it into a whole theme of weirdness, as if from his POV.

I'm going to check this out, but I've only watched Spoony and NCritic every week. I haven't bothered with any of the others save for Linkara (crazy annoying sometimes) and Paw (doesn't know shit about music as a music critic), but I like the other two enough to give this a go.

Is it just me or does the Nostalgia Chick just look completely bored?

I'm starting to get the feeling she's not digging the gig as much anymore.

Either that or it's part of her characterization for this little show. She's lined up to be VP now. I kinda expect these guys to win only to turn on each other in a massive free-for-all once NChick turns on NCritic to become the new President.

I was surprised to see part one was almost 20 minutes. This is a fucking movie.

Part one delivered. I imagine there will be some twists to keep this going for another hour and 40 minutes.

If it's all good though, I hope they'll release a DVD.

Part 1 is pretty good so far. Loved the 'it's time' routine. Needed mo' Spoony, though.

I love pretty much everything Spoony does, but Dr. Insano is flat-out my favorite. I was sad to hear he was trying to use the character less because the voice really does a number on him. He's such a fun character, and Spoony sells it better than others with their own "insane" personas.

I note Critic's "Dr. Smith" appeared again... that makeup has gotta be a bitch to get out of his facial hair.

Out of all those people I know about three and only (occasionally) watch Nostalgia Critic. I've tried a few of the others and just didn't like it. Just how many people do you need doing video reviews of the same thing?
Pretty much this.

Most of those guys are terrible.

Let's see...
N-Critic: Humorous Movie Reviews.
Mars Girl: Anime
Angry Joe: I think he does multiplayer games and MMOs.
Paw: Music
Film Brain: Serious movie reviews, i think.
LordKat: How to beat hard games (Until We Win)
Bennet the Sage: Serious Game reviews
JewWario: Obscure games
NChick: Female perspective at movies.
Linkara: Comics and TV shows
Spoony: A bit of everything. He's more like a close friend of the TGWTG than a member of the site.
Benzaie: No idea.
Handsome Tom and 8-bit Mickey: No idea, but 8-bit Mickey is always fun in these cross-overs.

I think that's everyone, and it does seem like most of them have a niche that the others don't cover. Just not sure about Benzaie and Handsome Tom + 8-bit Mickey.
