I like the rep system because when I get positive rep, I'm like "I made a good post!" and when I get negative rep, I'm like "Haha, that person is dumb as fuck!"
Wait, I just realised I don't know how to tell if a rep. I get is good or bad! I don't remember my points and the notification doesn't say it!

Well this is interesting... Seems a lot of my neg reps are from the same person, haha.
That said, I'd kind of prefer it stay anonymous. I have no problem having my name attributed to any of my reps (they're mostly in jest anyway), but I liked receiving honest comments, and I suspect we'll get less of that now that it's not anonymous.

How about punishing dickery? If someone receives a dick-ish notification, they report it to an admin, who then bans the dick for a few hours, or a day. It might mean a bit more work for the admins at first, but after a few days of laying down the ban hammer, surely the dickery would slow down.
