Happy Father's Day, Dave! What would you like to do today? Drive 2 hours up to Sioux City, South Dakota to fix my sister's computer while she takes me shopping and her husband sleeps on the couch? OKAY!

It's not what I wanted to do but it's what I did. If I tried to pull that shit on my wife for Mother's Day I would be sleeping on the couch for a month.

Women. AMIRITE Dave?

Seriously, sorry man, that sounds like a frustrating day. If it makes you feel any better I think I'm getting a cold. In the middle of summer. Bleh.

Happy Fathers day Dave, and all you other fathers on the forum. I admit I am not envious , but I understand it's a hard job with its own rewards. Not only do you have proof to back up your boasts, but you raised a little screaming/pooping machine, guiding them, and are hoping to turn them into a member of society that doesn't make the 10 o'clock news. Good luck!

My hat is off to ya's.

Ah being a father: never a complainer and ALWAYS putting his family before himself. Moms get all the glory; dads get to mow the lawn. I wouldn't have it any other way. So my daughter drew me up a card for father's day. It gets depressing when every year the crayon portrait has less and less hair on the top. :(

Happy Father's Day, to my fellow men who toil day in and day out so their little spawnlings can treat them like the local branch of the money tree. :)

I didn't get to watch any of the 3 World Cup games today. While her husband sat on the couch and watched NASCAR.

I made french toast and bacon for breakfast, chicken Parmesan (his favorite) with spaghetti for dinner, and cupcakes for dessert. I would have done something special, but our daughter has another ear infection which meant I spent the better part of the morning at the pediatric clinic and I have a paper due tomorrow that I'm not even halfway finished writing.

My Dad's one of the greatest people I know. He's just as sharp as he was when I was little. His own constant drive and desire to improve himself motivates me and the whole family. We all want to use each day to better ourselves just like him. He cooked for us today in the outdoor kitchen he designed and had built a while back. He's so proud of it, and he's worked really hard. The man deserves every single thing he has. He's worked hard for us every day of his life... the man has no weekend usually. I got to make him a chocolate pie, and I played him some standards on my uke. He hates when we kids buy him things. So we just visited all day and had a swim. It was nice.

Despite a few frustrating moments today, I'm glad that MOST of the men in my family are good, solid role models who are good to their wives/girlfriends and teach their children well.

Happy Daddy's Day for you wacky breeders around here. I have no idea why you guys would want to reproduce, the very idea scares the living daylights out of me, but g'luck to you guys nonetheless for doing what I lack the balls to do. :)

Dude! SPOILER WARNINGS!

Me and my dad went to my uncle Steve's place to chill in his pool and eat some of the biggest steaks I've ever had. Tomorrow we'll see the A-team and keep hanging out.

I called my dad and talked a bit, then I called my grandpa and did the same. I have a really hard time talking to my granpa, always have, but I know he doesn't have long left for this world (he's 85 with his health getting worse every day) so I treasure every conversation we have. He really was a great man who's done so fucking much in his life only to have life bugger him anally at every opportunity.

I pretended to be asleep while my daughter hammered on my spine to try and wake me up, eventually my wife woke up and reminded her that we had to make Daddy breakfast and let him sleep in. Eventually I made it downstairs for Daddy's breakfast and some nice presents :) Then I cleaned the house, then my wifes parents showed up for lunch, and then we all went to see my daughters ballet recital. I held my little 18 month old boy on my lap for the three hours, and the show was great! Well organized and fast and fluid. Then we went out for Mexican food, then home and in bed for the kiddies. Then I got all the recycling ready and cleaned the house some more, watched True Blood with the Mrs, then put her to bed and finally had a moment to myself so I cleaned up the garage and sat on the porch for a bit.

All in all a really good day.

I'm confused, Dave. Why didn't you just tell your sister to fuck off? Lord knows that's what I tell mine when she bothers me about computer shit.

Yeah, but that shouldn't mean "and bring your husband over to fix my stuff while my husband watches a bunch of cars drive and get nowhere."

You keep telling yourself that.
I dunno man. No offense, but you're such a pushover for your relatives. Just do what I do. Look at it for 10 minutes, make up some bullshit, and tell them to take it to Geek Squad.
