Damn that is a pessimistic comic. That's over-the-top even for VG Cats. I only laughed at the "I've already got a Wii" line. The rest of the gags don't work for me so far before release.

Okay, I haven't checked that comic in almost a year, and I've missed... 6 comics. Nice fucking update schedule.

It helps if you remember that it takes a long time to update because he only uses materials he can produce with his own body for the art.

Don't ask where the blue comes from.

I actually thought it was funny, albeit over-the-top in his usual style. If not for you guys though I think I would forget to ever check it.

I've always loved his comic, I just expect the things I like to go away. Girlfriends, wives (some my own), TV shows, tasty restaurant items, mini skirts, and low unemployment levels.

I console myself with those words of wisdom "It's a fnuckin potater, lay offa da hooch boy!"

Honestly after taking so long to update I would have hoped for a lot better than this. It really felt like he was bending over backwards just to say bad things.

The last panel was the only one that was even remotely credible, but it was somewhat undercut by the fact that you could say the same thing about Sony's imitation Wii-mote.

That's a bit unfair; Kurtz may be late some days, but he actually updates.

Also checkeredhat, was he trying to promote VGCats, or Super Effective? Because he doesn't do anything with VGCats now aside from the random update, but he seems gung-ho about his four-panel black and white Pokemon comic... you know, with jokes about season 1 of the show, because that's the only one most people remember, but has the unfortunate nature of being jokes people made years ago?

Honestly, I wasn't thinking about Kurtz in particular, just the whole 'lifestyle thing'. But frankly Kurtz didn't update on all his projects now that he has been mentioned. *koffassetbarkoff* Not that not updating is a strip killer in and of itself for me, look at Dresden Codak, or WTF that I still check monthly when I pay the power bill. I keep all 3 links right beside each other, just for that purpose.

That reminds me, time to poll the wiki...

Mreungh. He should just quit.
He pretty much has, he just occasionally forgets that he's quit and that's when he updates.
The funny thing is thats not entirely true. My friends saw him with his own table trying to pimp his comic at Anime North just this year.
Yeah, and the people behind the vaporware "Phantom" tried to promote it for years, didn't mean there was anything to promote. Scott R can talk a lot of shit and his comic used to be hilarious - but with unceasing negativity and updates that make Megatokyo look prompt, there's nothing really to follow.

From my friends' description, both. But I'd hardly consider 10 comics in 9 months gung ho. It is, perhaps, prompt, if you're doing a monthly comic (and if its monthly, you'd expect colour). But gung ho? I guess by Scott R's standards, you might have a point.

He keeps talking about it like it's his main comic.

You'd almost think it would have its own site.
