D&D Jay's Game - I Cast Blazing Starfall...

I just want to reitterate, what happened in-game was almost impossible. What the heck happened???

My idea for RP combat was to stress Falagar's incompetence my making him frequenty hit his own teammates in battle by accident. (Or at least a chance to.) But I figured with no real healer, that would just be annoying and not fun for you guys.

I'd be okay with it if it was just that you'd attack an ally if he just happened to be surrounded by enemies and you hit them with a burst, and then try to play it off cool afterwards in-character.

Unless of course you miss every enemy and nail the good guys, right Gusto?

Hehe, well, Falagar would've made it entertaining. ;)

Seriously, dude, it was funny as hell, even the second time. I contemplated telling you to do it a third time, but we had expended all of our healing.

But the question is... when Falagar will fail, will we get to hear a train when you'll try to come up with excuses?

That had me rolling a solid 15 minutes after that. My attention was shot.

Oh, did a train go by while Rathkor was talking? XD He lives like RIGHT next to the tracks.

D&D Jay's Game - I Cast Blazing Starfall...

It happened right after his 3 failed starfall. Like aim for 6 people, connects with 2.... every time... and the 2 are PCs. As we start laughing, he starts talking but is cut off by the train.

I had TEARS.

Ok, I'm sure now that I've had a day of terrible rolls, perhaps I'll have some really awesome rolls. But if this is anything like my last game, it's just gonna go downhill from here.

D&D Jay's Game - I Cast Blazing Starfall...

I would think that rolls in Gametable are probably more fair than rolls with real dice. Real dice have the tendency to have imperfections that make them heavier on one side and therefore more likely to roll a particular number.

I dunno, tell that to the 4 consecutive 1s in Darryl's D&D game with my Barbarian.

Quite true, but don't take it from me; he's the premier expert in the field!

Recently I have been measuring my dice down to 1/1000" and everything he says in those videos holds true.

Also I think Gametable recognizes the word skill and only rolls 20's for skill checks. It's strange that Aurora and Jaisahn have rolled 20's like crazy but Kraag has had maybe 2 of them?

D&D Jay's Game - I Cast Blazing Starfall...

that's pretty cool. I may actually get a set of those dice.

D&D Jay's Game - I Cast Blazing Starfall...

He really explains the fallacy that rolling is random. The more the dice rolls the less random it really it becomes. I have an original TSR blue d20 from the 70's and it rolls forever it is so rounded now and it will roll certain numbers far more than others.

And quality dice cost good coin and you see the whole problem unfold.

Anyways, guys, just wanted to state the game will run for a 3rd week in a row as Shawn's game has moved back one week due to RL issues on his end. Still expecting the short, yet entertaining summary. The group got beatup by some stirges... will they prevail to unveil the mysteries of the docks?

I wonder how balanced those jade dice you [Doom] got are.

I still don't understand why people are so convinced that my character actually did anything in that fight. He's just a helpless little kid. :whistling:

Shawn, maybe it had to do with the fact that you used your Shadowstep with MY OWN SHADOW, thus effectively teleporting within inches of me. Pretty sure I'd notice that. lol

Because I noticed all of us failing to land any attacks except for on each other, or preoccupied with keeping ourselves alive, and yet somehow the enemies died.

Perception Roll: 14+6=20

Not that you'll be getting anything in the next game but I'd like to poll everyone for their top 3 item types they'd like their character to have (i'd rather not give items that you guys will toss away completely needlessly). So, show me your loot tables!

Magic Daggers, Magic Cloth Armor (or Magic Leather Armor, as that is what I plan to use once I gain profeciency in it), and... I don't know of a 3rd item i need yet.

I really don't know.

Looking through the items, I thought the Tangler (Arms Slot) or the Tongueworm (Head Slot) looked interesting considering they're basically animals (that Falagar could identify and utilize).

Hmm, otherwise, I don't really know... A fun neck slot?

But, man. All I need is a good bluff check and you could be like "Yeah. I guess I was just really drunk."
