I SIT.. 6 days a week, in my office, 10 hours a day, sometimes 12-14. I come home and sit for another 4-5 in front of the computer / tv. During August, I spent every - EVERY - weekend trying to get away from my office / home routine.. still wound up sitting, lol, cause I would drive 80 miles to the coast, and the last couple weekends, 50 miles to the mountains, and there I sit, yet at least active in starting a campfire and roasting food over it, being active in log finding on the beach or sawing branches off / to size..

Now that summer's over, I'm already feeling a little stir crazy to get OUT of the office and enjoy some smoldering warm weather before it's altogether gone =( ..

Anyone else get stir crazy in the office and what do you do about it?

Go for a run.
I do that once in a while,.. my friend bought me a bike, which I store in the office and take a 10 minute run around the block (about a mile and a half) once in a while.. but since I'm the only one there during the day until I can afford to hire someone, I can't always just take off. SOMETIMES I take a walk around home, but it's just gotten.. boring around here. I live in the suburbs along a fairly busy road - no lighting and no sidewalks. ;P

Dude, I totally get the stir crazy thing. When I'm working all I want are days off. Then I get them and since I'm not seeing anyone anymore I feel like I have fuck all to do and I get a little stir crazy. So, I usually end up hitting the gym, then walking across the street to the cop shop and having coffee with whoever's on watch.

Fucking pathetic.

I feel you... I love my wife and my baby, but I would like nothing more than a vacation from them both. Go off to north Georgia and go hiking/camping again. Mmmm... Appalachian Trail...

It had been a while since I had used the "it's just water" bit, too. I came back kickin' it OLD SCHOOL, bra.

I used to make lists when I was stuck at a desk for 8 - 10 hours a night with barely anything to do. Lists of things I needed to do, CDs I wanted to buy, movies I wanted to see, books I liked, things from A to Z, places I wanted to visit, etc. My supervisor thought I was crazy for making these lists. Sometimes it was productive since I'd usually go buy the CDs within the next month or I'd be able to tell my boyfriend exactly what movie I wanted to see rather than wasting time looking through the listings.

If I am at work and there is nothing to do I usually post here but if I am going stir crazy at the house I will either go for a walk or maybe hit up some thrift stores/garage sales.

I was playing Everquest on an emulated server.. got 3 characters up to 80, so bored with that.. was watching movies and videos, most recently Star Trek Enterprise selectively, and also bought the latest version of the GameMaker 8 engine for my work computer and have been updating the graphics (which I paid JCM a fortune for) and physics in, trying to get it working better.

...Whattya mean, WORK?

I buy things for myself. It'sg etting ridiculous how many movies, series and books I have lying around I still ahve to watch. And games. I like playing games, reading, and watching tv, but they're all so...sitting and doing nothing, like my job. It can get annoying :-P
