aw damn now i wish i would have gotten in on the hf secret santa. i know a few people who deserve that.

Heh, that's probably one of the things I look forward to the most of being back home with the family. My dad and I normally set up the scene across the cupboards that run the length of the dining room, it's fairly large (about 25x1.5ft) and my parents have been collecting the figurines since they married or so, buying one a year. We only use classical-like figures tho, no celebrities :p

Edit: For clarification, this caganer things don't need to be famous people. Actually, they usually aren't. It's just that it's a tradition here to reproduce a nativity scene at home and we add a figurine of some guy taking a shit.

Edit2:
I loved preparing these scenes when I was a kid. We did a nice one at home, and I also went to my granma's to prepare hers, which was always very exciting :) Everyday I'd move the three wise men a little on their way from the furthest point from Jesus in the scene so that the 5th of december they'd get to the baby, then I unmounted them and put them besides Jesus as if they were giving their gifts. (On the morning of december the 6th, children in Spain wake up to find that the three wise men have left presents under the christmas tree, it's sorta like Santa Claus but with some biblical analogue :p)

We don't do this here at home anymore though... :( Maybe I'll try to bring it back this year! (The nativity scene)

I think you meant January 5th and 6th there, mate :p But yeah, it's an awesome tradition. Sadly, I've had to leave for the U.S. before the 6th every year I've been in college, my uni starts the semester around the 4-6th of Jan, so I haven't gotten to do any of the gift stuff in 3 years now.

I miss the lumps of coal u_u
