Honestly, after the Avengers movie (Let's face it, Movies), this franchise will be just run into the ground, and I'm sure Downey Jr will get bored of playing the role he was born to play eventually.

I cast my doubts.

Really Boehner? Do you ever try and post something constructive when you have an opposite opinion or do you actively find pleasure in coming across as mindless?

Please elaborate. I found what Chuck said made sense, as that it would appear he did not appreciate the direction the previous Iron Man movies went, and that perhaps this new style would more suit his pallette. As I said, I found his statement perfect fine.

You, on the other hand, decided to go right on ahead and just attack him him for not being constructive here, while you yourself are not doing just that with said attack. When I say I find his post makes sense, you go ahead and continue to not be constructive, again,e ven after you pointed out that he should have to be.

I just wanted to make sure I am seeing that correctly, chief.

All that Lethal Weapon and last Action Hero credits do not make me happy.

He writes one good movie, but it did not make money.

YEAH, he will totally outpace the first Iron Man... /sarcasm

Actually, I think his take on action will be quite good considering the franchise, and I am optimistic if this happens. I liked the previous Iron man movies, and was sad to see Favreau go, but if Black comes on board, I think it will actually be good, allt hings considered.

Sweet he wrote three of my favorite movies: Last Action Hero, The Last Boyscout and The Monster Squad. And he gave us Lethal Weapon 2 with Leo Getz. I'm with Charlie on this one. Can't wait for the new Iron Man movie.

What now, bitches? It's gonna be great!

I liked the first Iron Man. The second was... lumbering. Here is hoping that with a new director we'll be able to avoid that with the third one.

Lethal Weapon 1-3 were all good....
The 1st was was fantastic until the ending. They knew Mr. Joshua was heading for Murtaugh's home and let Mr. J kill two cops. Then when they finally get him after he murdered cops they let Riggs and Mr. J battle octagon style in the front yard while all the other cops cheer on. Even with that it still holds as one of my favorite action movies of all time. My issue with the second one were weak ass villains and totally destroying what made the first one great, being the death of Riggs' wife. I loved how it was an accident. Life just happened and he was barely able to cope with it. In the second movie they take a great storyline and cheapen it by making the death a failed assassination plot on Riggs. And it really wasn't needed. When Riggs was thrown into the water and saw his love interested dead at the bottom of the lake that would have been enough to push him over the edge. It's been years since I've watched the movies and could quote almost every line from the first one, barely remember much about the second except Leo Getz and have no recollection of the third or fourth.
And I agree with Charlie on Iron Man. I enjoyed both movies but haven't watched them again.

The only thing in those writing credits that I thought was actually good was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, though I enjoyed the Lethal Weapon movies regardless.

I guess I judge buddy cop action movies on different criteria than you. Fair enough though. I can see your point about the second one cheapening the plot point with Riggs' character. I just don't watch Lethal Weapon for that character development. Kinda like how the third Terminator movie just throws the whole "You control your own destiny" thing from Terminator 2 out the window, but I don't mind T3 that much either.

I have to agree with Boehner on this one. I didn't even see the 2nd one, it looked so weak. The first was fun, but nothing great. It was fair, but it kind of ended up being "Tony Stark" instead of "Iron Man". Admittedly, with the exception of Spidey, IM is probably the most out-of-uniform focused comic, but I would've liked to see a little more Iron Man.

Thats how the first one left me feeling as well, I wanted more because when he was in the suit? Damn. Awesome.
Of course I think that was probably a good job on the part of the film makers, they left us wanting more. The problem is the second one only mildly delivered.

More explosions, less dialogue? So what you're saying is you want Michael Bay heading this up instead? -wink

Lol, no, but come on, when he goes after those terrorists in IM 1? You gotta admit that was pretty much the top of the mountain right there :)

It really was, but I was enjoying every dead on portrayal of Stark by Downey just as much as the actual suited-up parts. Much as I did with Hulk. For me it was just as much their portryal of their alter-egos as it was the big costume that I enjoyed about the first two films/Hulk film.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed RDjr. He lit up every scene, thats probably why I enjoyed the first movie so much. It never slowed down, in huge part to RDjr, who just cranked that character up to 12 for the whole movie.
But that scene with the terrorists... I mean, man, it just made me want to cheer it was so damn cool.

No kidding, I screamed in the theatre when he fired the Tank Buster.

On a related note, I just recieved IM1 and IM2 on Blu-Ray in the mail last night, and will be watching it with the kids tonight on our slick new TV/PS3. -grin-

That's true. The whole origin story was a perfect "how-to" example of how to update a dated origin without sucking.
