The door stop one is a good idea and I have no idea why it would be on this list.

Because if you really need to keep people out that you'd need an alarm, why not just put a simple latch on your door?

As a male, I see it as silly, but a close friend of mine swears by the GoGirl Female Urination Device. I mean, I admit, it is convenient for us, why should they be denied it?

Wow really? 0_o

Does she just shake the device when she's done to clean up too?

As for the doorstop, if you are in a hostel, often even the private rooms do not lock... I met a few female travellers who were concerned about rape, and I met one who was sexually assaulted in her room. So I can see the merit to the doorstop too. But most of those seem like they would make travel more of a hassle.

I did not ask how she cleaned it, I just teased her. I am a terrible friend.

I would like to get one of those dog backpacks some time. If I decide to bring my dog backpacking with me for a weekend it would be nice if that lazy bum would at least carry his own food and food dish. I wouldn't load him down with other stuff though.

I did NOT think about a hostel, that's a good point.

Any more than three shakes and she's playing with herself...

I'd rather invest in a rape whistle and some mace...

Hotel doors and security systems are all built to be opened from outside the room. If you can't get into a fully dead-bolted and latched door in thirty seconds or less, you're doing it wrong. Besides that tool looks to be useful for all sorts of applications not just hotels.

Love the cabin pillow, hotel alarm, seatback organizer and camping cupboard. (pillow goes on my birthday wishlist)

Would never, ever, ever take a blacklight into a hotel room. Ever. Even an expensive hotel room. Hell, I wouldn't take a blacklight to rooms in my own house!

The dog backpack is not aimed at people who are "held back by all that lard around your six pack", it's aimed at people who hike and backpack with their dogs. It's not for your stuff, it's so the dog can carry his own food and water. If I'd had a dog during the time I was doing a lot of hiking and backpacking, hell yes I'd have had one of these!

And anyone who thinks a dog wouldn't have fun hiking with you, even while carrying his own pack, has either never owned a dog or has a dog that is a complete couch potato.
