I thought pajamas were for people under 14 and over 50.
Well, I like to wear something in the evenings before hitting the hay. I've been sleeping in the nude all year round for the past three years - before that I only slept in the nude in the summer. Much more comfortable that way.

Damn it, I'm ready for summer.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT
Wednesday.

* Timing and location: an intense early Spring storm will affect
the Brainerd lakes region... Saint Croix River Valley... and an
area from Hayward to Phillips this morning through Wednesday.
The storm will bring a mix of heavy snow... freezing rain... and
sleet to these areas. Precipitation will change over to all
snow tonight and become locally heavy.

* Snow and ice accumulation: 11 to 16 inches of snow is expected
by late Wednesday afternoon... with ice accumulations up to tenth
of an inch.

* Main impact: heavy wet snow and ice combined with northeast
winds of 15 to 30 mph could cause power outages due to downed
trees and power lines.

Doing some research for the world I want create in the comic I'm going to be doing for you lovely people.

I have discovered that my attention span has severely degraded since I left high school. I used to be able to research historical events and shit with finesse...now I can hardly read one sentence and make a jot note with out flipping over to another web site. This makes this whole process slow and painful.

Take it from my first comic-making venture-slash-fiasco: Don't do it for other people. Do it for yourself.
Oh, it'll be mostly for myself. This is the story I had in my head for years. I worry that my drawing skills may be sub par, so I've never attempted to be serious about it...but I have decided to do it, drawing skills be damned and hope for the best.

I've recently had to break myself of this habit while researching a paper for history. Obviously things like finding an engaging source helps (ie, Wikipedia while quick is not exactly high-quality writing). But additionally I've found if I can't minimize the distractions by going to the library or what have you: Mozart. Well, probably just a favourite band, I suppose. But I think having something in the background that really stimulates me (I absolutely love Mozart) associated with the task at hand (research) made it enjoyable and therefore easier. I know what you're doing isn't 'work' per se, and since you've been planning this a while you probably already enjoy it... But this may help you. Or I could be a crazy person.

Man I only got about 4 and a half hours of sleep last night and on top of that my sciatica has been acting up again lately so my back and legs have been sore.

So I spent 2 hours today combing through the computer system at work trying to recreate something I was taught to do YESTERDAY. For 2 hours I labored and sweated, finally admitting defeat and slinking back to my boss like an incompetent dork. His response?

"Oh yeah. A bunch of people are having issues. Seems they reset some security stuff last night."

So why couldn't I find it? IT WASN'T FUCKING THERE!!!

The current module is like an exercise in schizophrenia. I teach two classes. One of them is a small class of less than ten students, all of whom answer readily during classes, never bring their work in late, and are willing to offer opinions and discuss the various topics our course covers.

The other class is twice that size, and I have to fight to get even one person to raise their arm when I ask something. Checking their homework takes forever because half of them just say they haven't done it, any kind of group exercises are impossible to do because some of them just decide to goof around, and last time one of them actually tried to take a nap during the class.

And don't even fuckin' try me with that lame-ass pearl of wisdom from Mr Miyagi. I have done all I can for them.

Smaller classes allow you to interact and teach students on a more personal basis? I dunno. I don't know what your class requirements are in terms of how many students must pass. If I felt like it I could fail every student in all three of my classes and labs and still be employed for the next year. One of the perks of teaching college, I suppose - you don't have to give a shit.

You need to find the gang-leader in your classroom. Once you reach him, everyone else will listen (according to Michelle Pfeiffer).

Well, I can't fail them just because I feel like it, this being high school. If they turn in their assignments and get at least a passing grade in the exam, I can't fail them. But there's more to the story, it seems: I just finished reading their essays, and what I find disturbing is that some of th goofballs wrote quite interesting, thoughtful essays - but in class they rather act like they had left their brains back home. It is more than a little sad they don't bring up their own talents but rather just fool around and don't pay attention.

And no, I doubt any of them are Albert Einsteins.
