EDIT: Or the phaser, for that matter? I could almost understand the bat'leths, as they really do just look like a fancy design arranged as they are...

That's funny, but in fairness, if you have no idea what Star Trek is, you could easily assume each is something else: the Klingon skull could be a highly stylized furrowed brow, and one could maybe mistake the phaser for some kind of UAV or other bit of mil-tech. Still, if you're doing a Google search, and you see more than one different emblem, I would think one would double-check to verify.

And a quick Google search overwhelmingly shows the correct one. I wonder how they found the fan emblem? Some German language quirk?

Technically it is now called the "United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group" after Marcinko's team was disbanded. Usually it's internally referred to as DEVGRU. A lot of special forces units undergo name changes; Delta Force was known as 1st Special Forces Operation Group Detachment-Delta, and then as Army Compartmented Elements for JSOC, while the Department of Defense refers to it as Combat Applications Group. Then of course there was the Vietnam era "Studies and Observation Group".
