Looking at more and more videos of MapTool and I like it far more than OpenRPG. I'll probably going to start using this in a couple game sessions. It'll prolly be awkward for a game session or two but honestly, I just EVERYTHING I created yesterday in about 15 minutes, where it took me 2 hours with Gametable and Maptool's result is far nicer.

Missing Falagar's LVL 5 character sheet!

Make sure to have all items/rituals/anything of interest written down. :)

When we went to the pub after the temple to grab a meal and respite, Falagar accidentally drank from Rustys mead mug, so Rusty killed him.

Afterwards, Rusty went shopping for a Dwarven Battleforged Shield and possibly a Cloak of the Chirugeon.

The only thing I'll probably buy is a trident, for those rare situations where I cannot shift and attack OR charge.

So, I've been following some tutorials and this is what I've come up with so far... tell me... RP possibilities GALORE!

Really glad I suggested this and really glad i'm such a spoony whore that i actually watched his weekly D&D game. lol

I've included everything that's in my possession. All two of them!.
wah wah wah, at least you have your teamates to help you out.

Definately going to look for a Battlestandard of Healing First, then Battleforged Shield and Cloak of the Chirugeon.

Already got maptools and currently goofing around with it. Macros are much nicer.

ZOMG! Multiple single dice rolls, seperability and html functionality!

This week is going to be the last week we'll use Gametable and I've put down enough on it for the purpose of the last game session.

The next session after that will be with Maptools. Sure, our first few game sessions will be slow and awkward and barring any disasters we should be using a far superior product and having a more entertaining game session. It's potential is off the charts people.

I'll get around to posting what I'll need every player to do and honestly it seems pretty damn straight forward. I don't think you can import your existing macros but I know their community is very very strong and I created a few in a matter of minutes. Your entire character sheet can be uploaded to your "tokens". I spent the entire evening in awe at the community support and I have 3 gigs of maps to peruse. It's exciting.

I connected to my server from my laptop which had 3-4 maps on it and I got to see them very very quickly where in Gametable any image over 200k would take far too long to show on other PCs and any image over half a meg would make Gametable unstable.

Players can play and talk from THEIR character? Fuck yea! Player ownership? Woot! Dynamic and static light sources? Hell yea for me! Ambushes galore.

I'll have a FAQ up soon enough... oh and don't worry about your pogs, they are all on Maptools and saved with all character data already.

I'd rather have the players create or find their own so they become more comfortable with the new software themselves.

That's exactly what I did. I'm saying that if I can do it, they should be more than able to do it. Given my approach was cumbersome to say the least

Google maptool macros
Read page about macros
Build macro in word processor to make it look nice
Save as html
Open saved html in Chrome
View and copy source of html into maptool macro editor
Googled simple html commands
Started deleting things until it looked nice

MapTool seems incredible but the idea of getting set up on a new infrastructure seems daunting to me.

Oh and I very much look forward to Rusty getting ANY of those magic items. :D

Seems like players will just have to set up and fine tune their macros. Jay (and HC?) will have to worry about making the maps and managing the GM tools.

Most the super functionality has to come from the DM side and how you set up each pc/creatures variables. Since what I have seen so far, with enough prep work you can select your token/pog as well as others and then run some awesome macros that will calculate if you hit and if you do modify the variables of the target.

Baby steps though. One of the awesome things I think it has is global macros that everyone can use, so somebody could NPC a missing player quite easily.

For now I think sticking to a low tech route would work until we get comfortable with it.

And I am super torn on what utility to take for 6th level, do I go uber front line leader, average overall leader or uber back line leader? I'll have to wait and see on what happens during level 5 to figure it out.

I vote frontline leader. At the same level, I'll obtain

Unbreakable
Immediate Reaction Personal
Trigger: You are hit by an attack.
Effect: Reduce the damage taken by 5 + CON(4).

and

Hunting Wolf Style: Fighters with Crushing Surge can use it at the end of a charge instead of a basic melee.

so I'll have temporary hit points and therefore bonus damage more often tan I do currently. Imagine Directing a Strike where my basic melee is +10 vs AC, 1d8+13 damage, with the possibility of adding MORE temp on a hit. Assuming I don't have a magic weapon by then. Actually does ANYONE have a magic weapon/implement?

Awesome, just wondering. We seem to have found a lot of equipment and consumables but weaponry and I think armor have only had one item drop each.

Uber frontline is: Lend Might + Back to Back

Uber backline is: Forward Observer + Rousing Resurgence

Avg leader: Improved Inspiration + Rousing Words

Tyrdin has a spear he's not using.

Now you imagine it at +12 to hit :)

Good idea. Time for some telepathic guilting.

I'm glad everything we did in the dreams was forgotten. Now that I know the Dwarf language, and Rusty no longer knows about my telepathy, I can try to Jedi mind trick him.

Ever listen to a recording of yourself and go "That's not what I sound like at all!"

Same deal.

Learning more and more macro stuff, so far have managed to work in colours and determine critical hits and for Far incorporate 2d20 take the best roll and finally how to hide the roll calculations.

True, but apparently I'm going to need to sell it so I can sleep at the inn, since I can't even go back to Dougan's Hole since I sold my house.
Your good buddy Rathkor would most likely let you room with him. Or even pay the small sum for you to get a room of your own. just saying.

I know, I know. This is certainly going to be an interesting deviation from how Tyrdin thought things were going to go. It'll be interesting to see how all our characters develop.

Eager for Thursday.
