Having pets has long been a sign of Western Decadence.

It still startles me that my Bro's in-laws let him bring the dog over when he visits.

Western decadence? really? Dog ownership goes WAY back to Egyptians (and older) eras.
 
There is nothing wrong about owning a dog in Iran, if you are a farmer and need the help. But if you have a dog and it does not work, that is a sign of Western Decadence.

I can't stand those damn freeloading dogs. Mooching off of humans and living on the doggie equivalent of welfare.
