Happy Canada Day!

Does not working count as fun to you? It does to me!

But other than that, no, nothing too exciting.

Watched the Canada Day/Independence Day fireworks Detroit hosted jointly with Windsor last weekend. Watched it on TV rather than in person, but it was still quite fun.

Had fun around the house with the kids until the sun came out, then hit the local party for face painting, hot dogs, snow cones and arts and crafts. Then grabbed some ice cream and toured the nearby newly renovated Provincial Park, followed by BBQ at home.

The beginning of our AMAZING parade. Actually, this picture is kind of misleading, there were tons of people about a block ahead and there were actual floats not in picture yet.
I am far right on picture.

It was 26 degrees this morning. I had to go home and wring out my serge afterwards. It was fucking drenched.

So, do you celebrate by tying a beaver to the end of a maple tree branch and hitting him with hockey sticks until he bursts open, spilling bottles of Molson beer everywhere? :p

Yes. Who told you? That shit is sacred. If the prime minister finds out a non-person (anyone who isn't Canadian) knows the rites of Mo'l So'n we will all be flayed until the truth is known.

I love you crazy hosers! I'm from Alaska, so I'm not THAT far off from you guys. You know, with our igloos and dog sleds and whatnot.

So do you have a state igloo then? We have a national one being threatened by global warming, so I figure you guys have the same problem, right?

Hint:

Question for you Canuckistani baseball fans. What do they sing at the Blue Jays games during the 7th inning stretch on Sundays? MLB has all but mandated singing God Bless America.
