The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

I posted something recently about a friend of mine being an asshole. Well, it happened again with a different friend. However, despite all of that, it reminded me of something great. After turning to my siblings for support, I got to spend all afternoon and all night thinking about how so many people would love to have a truly great friendship with their siblings. I have that, and no matter what happens with the other people in my life, they will always be there. I am so lucky. Now, after a long talk with my brother, I remember who I am (as cheesy as that sounds). A couple of years ago, I never would have put up with this bullshit. There are plenty of people I can rely on without having to deal with assholes, so I can do whatever needs to be done to make life all right again. Yay family. :)

since ive spent so much time bitching about my coworkers i figured i should say when good things happen to. I have been so hungry for kuchen the last few weeks and my mom hasn't made it. Today one of the camp hosts brought me a piece. mmm heaven!!

I entered a contest and won first place. A month later, the grand prize winner still hadn't contacted the people running the contest. As such, I have been bumped to being the grand prize winner! The prize?

Trades of Daredevil Visionaries: Frank Miller 1-3, the tenth anniversary hardcover of The Dark Night Returns signed by Frank Miller, Kingdom Come Hardcover signed by Alex Ross and Mark Waid and of course the Evil Dead Book of the Dead signed by the entire cast!
Aw Hell yeah!

Congrats!

Finished the rough draft of all my science units for this year. Reworking them with my partner tomorrow after work. *squee* Teaching.... real teaching. I can't believe it!

My daughter just turned one, had a successful birthday party, and is currently walking everywhere, unassisted!

Minor rant: My daughter is now walking EVERYWHERE, unassisted.
hahahahahaha

Oh, the places she will go and the interesting times you will have for the next 17 years.

In order to pay for my impending move to Los Angeles, I closed out my mutual fund and withdrew all the money (paying for post-graduation moving expenses being one of the primary reasons for starting this account). Well I went to my broker's today to pick up the check and it had $2,000 more in it than I was expecting. WOO-HOO!

It's true, that's why I need to buy a new car. One that can make the trip back and forth from Phoenix a bit more reliably than my current car can anymore.

It kind of worries me that this page gets neglected enough to fall off the first page.

Anyway.

I just saw Wicked at the theatre. Amazing. The set design, the lighting, the actors/singers... All of it made for an incredible spectacle. There was one fellow whose voice was somewhat underpowered, but this one of the best musicals I've had the pleasure of seeing. Just phenomenal.

I just worked on my painting for 5 goddamned hours solid.

It was really gratifying to see it all come together so nicely but my back hurts like NUTS.

Still some touch ups and minor glazes to be done but the painting could be finished and dry in like a week, no problem.

I might be having an interview soon that lets me finally get out of English teaching.
