Street Fighter X Tekken

Since the other thread on this has long been locked, I opened this new one up. Some vids from Comic Con:

The music choice leaves me cringing, but I'm hoping the gameplay is decent.
Still haven't heard or seen anything on the "Tekken X Street Fighter" version yet.

I'm much more interested in this version. Granted my Kaz/King was pretty dominant from the days of TTT till T5 but I'll admit it's been a while. Where as my SF4 skills improved drastically, so I'm happy with this version being more in line with the 2d style. SF's style with projectiles and air launching uppercuts didn't really translate well to 3d in all it's attempts.

WTF is with all that water splooged throughout those promos? I know SFIV had that hand-drawn ink style, but the water overdose is incredibly distracting.

Who is developing this?

Capcom? Fuck you Capcom. Not buying any of your shit.

Is Poison in street fighter? I thought she was from king of fighters.

Though, not being a fight gamer, I only know who any of these people are through porn.

Yes that first video was rather odd. We had King and Marduk from Tekken, then the rest were all from Final Fight, a few that later came into variations of Street Fighter like Hugo. They even had Cody and Guy at the end.

Either way, KING IS A BEAST. Knew the minute I saw him none no one was going to have a chance.

Toss in Soul Caliber and Mortal Kombat and you can have Super Mash-Up Ultimate Fighting Champion!!! Play all characters and have a bunch of DLCs ;)

We could call it Super Mash-up Brothers Melee and then on the next generation system call it Super Mash-up Brothers Brawl!

(we'd also have to add in Eternal Champions characters as well, Xavier and Larcen FTW!)

heh. IF the companies decide to work together. They could make a killing on DLC forever (i.e. keep adding characters and stories in packets) like Capcom can add backstories for Resident evil characters pack (heck knowing them it would be multiple packs) or Nanco Soul Caliber ascention pack with new weapons ;)

They don't even have to work together. At the rate Capcom gobbles up properties, they'll own all of the characters outright soon enough. And cross-licensing is getting more and more common. Look at Mortal Kombat and Freddy Kreuger & Kratos crossovers.

Can't watch vids from work, but if she IS in the game, then it should have been redubbed Capcom Vs Tekken. (I'm aware of her appearance with Hugo in SF3, but I objected to that as well as the other FF guys entering the SF series)

Well, technically she has been seen in a previous Street Fighter, but in the background as Hugo's manager.

Street Fighter's creativity was always something I enjoyed. When they added cast members from Final Fight into SF3, I was actually pretty annoyed. By that time we already had Capcom cross-over games, we didn't need them in our SF continuity.

It would have been like seeing Metal Slug characters in a King of the Fighters game. They just don't belong, and that's because KoF WAS a bit of a cross-over game, but SF3 was mixing genres, not characters from the same genre.

Yes the video shows Poison versus Julia/Ken.

It seems pretty obvious they are attempting to merge the Final Fight guys into the Street Fighter universe, which they have attempted before. The first trailer at the top of this post could be called "Final Fight vs Tekkan" considering every character we saw on the Street Fighter side was from Final Fight. Haggar getting suplexed in the beginning, Poison and Hugo for the rest of the match, then Cody and Guy making a quick appearance at the end.

The thing is that Final Fight is pretty much a dead franchise, so I can't blame them for trying to preserve the characters in a different form. Since Street Fighter is still popular and the Final Fight characters already felt rather larger then life. I don't think they feel all that out of place.

Meh, it was personal preference. I enjoyed the storylines that SF created with it's regular series and the addition of the Alpha then later the progressed 3 series. I really just did not like the additions.

Oh well, all the more satisfying when my Kaz obliterates them....

Capcom continues it's relentless troll job on Mega Man fans

Please don't mistake this as anger, I think this is fucking funny.

So glad I stopped my fighting game career and even casual playing after MvC2.

Stopped playing Tekken on a competitive level after TTT too. Seems I made some smart decisions.

Regarding the FF characters in SF, really, they've been pretty much incorporated since Alpha, with the inclusion of Guy, Cody, Sodom, Birdie, etc... I view them as part of the SF universe nowadays, seeing as there hasn't been a FF game in forever. Just the same way that many of the KoF characters used to be Art of Fighting characters.

Also, it's pretty much verified that YES, poison is a transexual who still has his "original plumbing". There's a video floating around out there that has Capcom backing it up multiple times.

Cool thing about SFXT? People have already found all the characters already on the disc that are locked away to be purchased later.
