America's Got Talent

Yeah, I made the mistake of watching it for the hilariously terrible acts in the beginning, and now I'm actually interested and entertained by the ongoing process of elimination and the acerbic banter between the judges.

I understand tonight we get to see acts which got thrown off the show earlier, but get a second chance. While I doubt he'll get anywhere in the competition, I want to see what the kinetiking sets up for us, with the hope that he's figured out what went wrong and how to fix it (I suspect last time he just let it sit for too long in the heat and humidity, and the sticks lost their spring)

I don't know who else is going on tonight. Hopefully a magic act or two - only one of the magicians so far has actually made me think, "How did he do that?" the others used props that were simply too obvious.

Anywho, am I alone here with this show?

I have been watching this season as well. Primarily for two reasons: first is 100 plus degree days for a month straight and second there's nothing on Tuesday night. Glad to see the Kinetic King redeem himself.

Yeah, he made a good showing. I'l be surprised if he makes it through though.

The two acts I liked the best were the last magician (water tank lock picking) and the comedy roast of Piers.

Truth is that water tank/lock tricks have never really entertained me much, though, so - meh.

I found that trick to be lackluster and lacking in showmanship. He goes in a water tank, picks lock behind a curtain, and comes out. The switch between him and the girl lacked flare, you could easily see her drop down, get in the tank, and him come up.

Maybe I'm just hard to please.

I just saw that roaster guy at a comedy club in Edmonton a couple of weeks ago. He was testing out jokes he was going to use on Piers on AGT. He was ok.

Watched the opening show last night for this season. Hilarious!

The orchestra/choral group playing "Call Me Maybe" was the highlight of my evening. While some of the other acts were interesting, that rendition was just a lot of fun. I hope we see a lot more of them.

The finals are tomorrow night. Six acts, each one gives two short performances. I've really enjoyed this season so far, and am really looking forward to their last performances.
