I've felt like three earthquakes ever in my life. Pardon me and my region for getting a little excited. This whole thing is nothing more than people on the east coast being self-centered.
You'd be surprised what gets coverage on CNN.Gee, that hurts. This whole thing is nothing more than people on the east coast being self-centered. A non-serious earthquake that does little to no damage hits them, and it's the end of the world.
Tell me this: If an earthquake of the same magnitude hit anywhere else, would it be news worthy? Would it be the top news result and get coverage on CNN? Nope. Because IT'S NOT THAT BAD.
It's not about being excited. I can see how people would be excited, have some fun, maybe freak out a little. What isn't justified is the heavy CNN coverage, the panic on blogs about nuclear meltdowns due to the earthquake, and comparisons to 9/11.I've felt like three earthquakes ever in my life. Pardon me and my region for getting a little excited.
Well, these ARE the people who do news stories about themselves doing news stories about things.EDIT: So maybe I should have said the east coast media was being self-centered. That seems more accurate.
See, now that I can get behind.Well, these ARE the people who do news stories about themselves doing news stories about things.
Might be a good thing to name my penis.Big One of '11
It's not their fault, you can't blame them for tremoring.Hey, this whole thing has some people quaking in their boots.

I LOLed, hard.Best post I've seen about it so far:
LOL!!!! I love it
Explainer of the Day: Apparently quite a few people reported reading tweets about today’s East Coast earthquake before feeling it themselves.
xkcd prophetically explained this phenomenon in an April 2010 strip entitled “Seismic Waves“:
I would make a comment about stupid Philly assholes too, but that's redundant.Felt it in Philly. Happened while I was at work.
Now all the fucking news stations won't shut up about it.
I was going to post: In before some asshole from California posts about a 5.8 quake being no big deal. Looks like you assholes beat me to it.
Why do you think I live a solid hour away from Philly? I just work there. I fucking hate that city and wish a meteor would smite it back to Satan.I would make a comment about Philly assholes too, but that's redundant.
And yet you fit in so perfectly. Why do you think I live a solid hour away from Philly? I just work there. I fucking hate that city and wish a meteor would smite it back to Satan.
I'd be willing to bet most people don't drive to the mountains just to practice driving in snow.I get the point you were making, Jay, but just FYI, I lived in California, in a place where getting 2+ feet of snow was a routine.
Just sayin'...
