"Hello, friend. I'm Don Draper. I've come to you because there is a great threat. My employer has tasked me to find people with extraordinary talent. I wish I could tell you more, but I am the same as you. Plucked from my time in order to approach convince those found worthy to join our cause."

Alright, fools. Let's arrange the greatest team of fictional, yet realistic (no cartoons!), television characters ever assembled. I picked our starter to be Don Draper due to his uncanny ability to sway people... how else are we going to get these rogues in order?

Give reasons, people! Also, any potential clashes you could see.

Well, if we're going to do this, we're going to need guns (no matter what PatrThom's choice says)

Jo Lupo (Eureka)
An ex-Special Forces Ranger, Jo has experience dealing with exotic threats of many sorts. Got to have someone who can keep a cool head when the fabric of space-time is uravelling around you.

Or are we going for less SciFi than this?

Totally fine. I was just trying to avoid cartoon characters.

Oh, thoughts on this guy?

Stealth, intelligent (forensics!), strong and gets the job done.

And honestly, I could imagine Dexter being approached with this and I think it'd be funny.

Dexter might have an issue with Mackey. Just saying. He's pretty good at spotting murderers.

Constable Benton Fraser.

He's tireless, an expert tracker, a jack-of-all-trades outdoorsman, an expert marksman, impeccably polite and is owner to the Stetson of Invulnerability. Though somewhat emotionally immature, he's not likely to let those emotions cloud his judgement in most situations. He joins Dexter as one of the characters that sees the ghost of his dead father, though in Benton's case it actually is a ghost and not a psychotic manifestation.

Constable Fraser is also owner to an adorable, infinitely loyal and deaf husky named Diefenbaker.

Well, any good team needs a stealth/tech expert, therefore I nominate a now-forcefully-retired ex Special Ops fellow from Miami, Florida:

Michael Westen (Burn Notice):

In addition to having plentiful hands-on knowledge on tech, surveillance and urban stealth, Mr Westen is also a decent hand when it comes to small arms and hand-to-hand combat. What is more important, however, is his ability to think with his head and keep his calm even when there's a .22 aimed at his crotch under the table. Not so much of a team player, he might not play well with the Type-A personalities so far gathered in our menagerie, but with proper encouragement he may be persuaded to put aside his natural suspiciousness and bring his best to the game. Just be prepared for him to have an ace up his sleeve, one which he will rather not tell you about.

First pic is Stringfellow Hawke played by Jan Michael Vincent, second pic is Airwolf. The Backseater in Airwolf was more Awesome. Santini played by Earnest Borgnine.

This is also the team so far. Feel free to add more! Or hell, add some villains.

Sorry, I'm bored. And this is fun. And you can add supernatural characters, I just wanted to avoid people adding Johnny Quest and whatnot.

I think Buffy's super strength and whatever random superpowers the writers felt like giving her makes her unrealistic, but it's your list.

Fair enough. I was just trying to break a pattern of "stealthy intelligent males that err on the dark side" that were dominating the list and introduce a "physically powerful but kinda dumb heroine" to the mix.

She had super powers? Yeesh. And it's our list. Although I feel like Dexter would be slowly reducing the team numbers here. I was thinking Sayiid from LOST, but Dexter would probably go after him too. Who knows.

Yeah Buffy had super strength which I took to be just above that of a vampire. Her "other powers" were mostly just occasional prophetic dreams due to her Slayer lineage.

Hmm. Well, to clarify, I only said realistic to avoid a bunch of Heroes characters flooding the team and someone throwing My Little Ponies characters into the mix. I'm assuming they'd be going against a Legion of Doom comprised of our heroes' villains. You throw in Doctor Who, you'll get the Master. Etc. Etc.

Well, since KITT drives itself....

In case we are trying to run a business that isn't necessarily on the up and up...

Though Mackey might have a few issues working with him but conflict provides drama
(Stringer Bell from The Wire)
