Your Holiday Haul

Good tidings and spending time with those you love? Psh. Screw that noise. Here's the real question:

What'd ya get!?

My haul:
-Batman Arkham City (with Arkham Asylum!)
-A bunch of clothes from Mountain Equipment Co-op (picked out by me last week)
-Cold hard cash from my sister

Not a huge haul for me, but it's been good. Not to be all sappy, but the real present for me is being able to be home for 5 weeks, spending time with my family, before returning to school.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent
The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
Skyrim (for PC)
Portal 2
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (360)
Coraline (DVD)
Good Omens (book)
Redwall: The Rogue Crew (Final Redwall book)
1600 Microsoft points
Candy!

At least half of that was unexpected, but I am thankful for it.

So Far:
$120 Cash
$20 Target gift card
Candy
MTG: Ajani vs. Nicol Bolas duel decks set

Still a couple more gifts to come next week.

a new Braun series 5 (eet's nice!) from my wife a full tank of gas from my dad and I won 14 dollars in lottery tickets from my mom.... lol
Added at: 19:56
Plus an extra 50 dollars from my dad

I made out like a bandit.

New watch
a Thin Blue Line paracord bracelet
new wallet
2 T-shirts (including a Cops one: "I ain't your papi!")
new handcuffs
buncha candy
Marine Sniper, Mike Durant's autobiography, and a survival guide
$30 Amazon card
A Kindle m-fing Fire, yo.
A T-Shirt and plushie from Hylian from the Secret Santa exchange (thanks again, brah! )

I have not yet BEGUN to spoil my wife for all that she got me

The Muppets soundtrack
$50 for AMC Theater
$50 for Ruby Tuesdays
Gloves
Two T-shirts
A winter hat knit by my wife

And enough leftovers from my aunts' house that we won't need to buy groceries this week.

My Christmas haul was combined with my wedding haul, so it's large and to be honest, a little overwhelming.

$2600.00 from various family members
New glasses (highball and old fashion)
A nice shirt
16pc Cuisinart 3-ply stainless steel pots and pans set
Set of 4 wine glasses (goblets, for red wine)
Bottle of red wine
Digital picture frame pre-loaded with photos from the wedding
Toaster/convection oven
Bath robe and comfy slippers
$25 gift card to Amazon
A Shun "ultimate utility" knife
A cookbook all about soup
More to come tomorrow from my parents, because so far we've only done the wedding and Christmas with my in-laws.

Oh, and because she has a strange habit of buying multiples of things that people already have, my mother-in-law read all through both wedding registries and decided to buy the one thing that wasn't listed. A crock-pot. But not just any crock-pot, oh no. This is a set of three crock-pots in a buffet server; because she remembers that one time that we had them over for dinner and I baked a hot dip in the oven instead of using a crock-pot because something else was in the crock-pot (actually, it was because the recipe called for it to be baked, instead of cooked in a crock-pot). What the hell am I going to do with 4 crock-pots? We figure next year she's going to get us 5 blenders or 7 tea kettles.

Some snazzy wall decor
Great books
Expensive cologne
Some Munchkin stuff
$25 amazon gift card
$25 iTunes gift card
1600 XBox Live points
An interesting college football documentary

...and a new iPhone 4S! Which is extra awesome because my old shitty phone (I was still rockin' a Razr from 2006) was about to die. So all in all this was a great Christmas haul.

Much as I get your thing with the mother-in-law from the rant thread, I've actually seen good use for that triple set. My aunt uses a triple crock pot set to cook sides; ex: today, one had mashed potatoes, another had a green bean casserole, and another had... I can't remember, but it's probably in my fridge. There is a way of using them.

I'm lucky I only got hand-me-downs from my family--they expect us to eventually replace the stuff. Unfortunately, if you don't have a use for them, you'll probably never be able to get rid of them since she'll be looking for them to be in use whenever she comes over.

Actually the worst part is, I'm sure that if I get rid of them, as soon as I do something will come up and I'll think to myself "Man, if only I had another crock-pot or 2." So they'll either go in a closet or into storage for the rest of forever because someday I might need more than one crock-pot.

I've gotten:

Bunch of Heroes (From Nick)
Dogfighter (from Seraphyn.)
Limbo (from Kate!, which is really cool)
Pajamas and underwear from my parents (Christmas Eve tradition).
A heated neck massager and a devotional book.

Minor awesomeness aside, I did not the immaterial gift I was really hoping for. On top of that I've felt really sick all day.

MW3
Star Wars: TOR
Money towards new washing machine/fridge/etc.

Best part was my wife and I bought my parents a trip to Vegas for an Xmas gift. They were pretty excited.

Heavy Rain
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
Fringe Season 2
Parents paid for 1/5 of our upcoming Disney World trip in March
Dominion: Intrigue
The Incredibles Blu-ray
A new copy of Super Paper Mario (cause our old one got scratched to heck)

Two t-shirts.
Socks.
$20 gift card to local mall.
Steve Jobs biography
Autographed Tyler Myers jersey (good logo, not the one in my avatar)

The triple crock pot is fucking fantastic. I've used it way more than I ever thought I would.

I got:

- stainless steel wallet
- gift cards to Best Buy, Chapters and Tim Hortons (har fucking har)

- Some underwear
- Some socks (thanks ma!)
- A sheep toy that shits jellybeans
- Pot of Gold
- 3 40's of various hard liquors
- A membership to some gun club so I can try out various weapons

It was a fun, low key Christmas.

Still haven't done my work gift exchange yet.

Uhm, a new shirt and some..erm boxers sent from home.

ZZ got me a duck feather coat. It's very warm. Also got a little cash, which I have to go through Western Union to get, which is always a pain in the ass.

I got a bottle of Baerenjaeger honey liquor and the Warhammer 40K core rulebook (hardcover, not the mini), a $20 amazon gift card, and a set of paints for my WH40K miniatures - gunmetal, bloody red, primer white, and black. I'm really chuffed.

I also got myself a bottle of John L. Sullivan Irish Whiskey, and it's really good. It has a kind of vanilla component to it's aroma, and is very smooth.

$100 in iTunes gift cards
scratch off lottery ticket that won $4
Mega Millions ticket for this Tuesday's drawing, jackpot 200 million plus
lump of coal
Cash that I turned into MEElectronics A151 earphones and Audio-Technica ATH-M50 headphones

-Various amounts of cash from various people totaling a little over $200, $17 from scratch cards.
-A pea coat.
-Pair of gloves with conductive index and thumb tips so I can use my phones touch screen and still keep my digits warm.
-Sauce from Nando's, a tasty chicken place.
-Bus tickets
-A tonne of junk food, candy and baked goods that will no doubt so stale before I can finish them. So many shortbread cookies...

I also bought myself The Old Republic about a week ago, justifying the purchase as a christmas present to myself.

- Xbox 360, Skyrim and a $100 Amazon gift certificate from you guys :)
- the newest Jeeves compilation
- tickets to a Clannad concert in April
- a book on Oriental erotica :unibrow:
- movie tickets
- about two pounds of various chocolates, of which about 1/3 has mysteriously disappeared. Hmmm... elves. Yes, it must be elves.
- Centurion on DVD. Never seen it, so it can be awesome or complete crap. What made it heartwarming, though, was that it was from my brother-in-law, who had apparently been out shopping, seen this and gotten it because he thought I might like it. And this is a guy who has to be prodded with sticks to get him to do anything :)
- $400 in cash, part of which will be spent on revitalizing the local economy via purchase of DVDs (namely Paul, Rare Exports etc.) and RPG books.

Unicorns
Scotch
Scotch
BB Playbook

And the best I must confess I have saved for the last, for when I asked my toddler if I could have some of his chocolate,

"Muhuhahaha! My chocolate!"

my haul this year was, and I shit you not,
-electric window scrapper for my car
-heated steering wheel cover for my car
-2 packages of jockey temperature control undershirts(these things are as good as long underwear imo)
- couple bags of reinforced padded socks
-$150 cash
-the entirety of Ranma 1/2 on dvd(TV seasons 1-7, OVAs->(rare and out of print WOOT), and movies [ complete set valued at 200-300 dollars])
it was a good year, and I will be watching dvds for at least a week just to get through it all.

Sign to hang in the kitchen from my sister.
wine holder from my sister
MLBshop.com gift card from my brother
Target gift card.
Cash.
Firebox for my important documents (should keep my from losing my social security card again).
Golfbag cart (My bag has no stand, and I like to walk when it doesn't become insanely hot).
Some clothes.
Bunch of baking supplies.
Starbucks gift card.
A book entitled The Natural Superiority of the Left-Handed

We didn't do Christmas for eachother, but Santa came just for the nephew.
Man did he make off well. It was awesome getting to see him open his presents cause this is the first year he's actually aware of what's going on.
Our family gift exchange is in January.

Did you have a good christmas?
I actually decided against the going out on Christmas Eve and stayed in. I bought LOTR Extended Edition Blu Ray and bounced between that, making food, being lazy on the internets and just glad not to be at work. LOTR in HD is breath taking. I enjoyed myself thoroughly.
