The special effects were ok, but the acting, premise, and script writing were pretty bad. Pretty much on par with all of his work, honestly.

You realize that instead of using his vast wealth to do scientific research he could be using it on hookers and blow, right? I'm not a big fan of his movies but I'm respecting the man.
 
James Cameron has directed more films that I liked than I disliked.

That said, I think he's a dude I would love to hang out with.

I loved Terminator and Terminator 2. Dude makes blockbuster films some better than others, and loves oceanography. Pretty awesome. He reminds me of John Carmack in a way. Except with movies instead of games, and the ocean instead of space.

Do you guys realize how deep the Challenger Deep is? This is amazing. The latest xkcd has a nice drawing that puts things in perspective. It's actually exactly the illustration I was looking for when everyone was asking me why we didn't just go down and cap off the Deepwater Horizon rig.
