If I wasn't waiting on my first paycheck of my new job, I'd totally be snatching this up.

Nice. I have 2 external TB HDDs, and one is half full and the other is 75% full. I am glad to see prices still falling.

I don't have the money for it right now - but a friend of mine does and just snatched one up. Lucky bastard...

In any event, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure my friend appreciates it.

I run about 4 TB's in my Mac Pro and I have a few more laying around. It's not hard to fill these up, the annoying thing is that I back up my whole machine so whatever I USE I have to double to back it up.

Is this "shell shocker" just a daily deal ?
Yup, it's Newegg's way of trying to cash-in with a Woot-style offering. I can't quite figure out their schedule, though.

I've never even stored more than 100 gigs on a computer, yet still theres the urge to have terabytes worth of storage, just because.

The lowest price per GB right now is in the 1.5TB range:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148412

If you miss this shell shocker, don't fret - there are 3 1TB drives at newegg right now that are $79, but they are slightly more expensive per GB than the 1.5TB drives, running about $110.

Besides, they should drop again this fall as drive manufacturers start releasing 2.5TB and 3 TB drives for next year, so waiting is never a bad option.

I hate my computer. It is slow and old. I don't have the money to buy a new one, nor can I justify if I did have the dough. Boo. I will be sitting on 0.1 Tb for quite some time.
