100 mph fail

If the camera is rolling, so are the pursuit lights. The cop was driving slowly in that lane in an attempt to stop the kid. It looks like the kid tried to beat the rolling road block by passing on the inside shoulder.... which is not as wide as the outside shoulder. So he likely put his tire on the grass and slid into the median, only to hit the guard rail (THANK GOD HE DID) then got thrown into the air and hit the column (guessing 24 feet in the air.)

After years of playing Burnout games, the amount of dust and smoke in actual car crashes just irritates me because I can't see anything. Then I get irritated that I'm irritated that real life isn't like a video game, because I don't want to be one of those guys.

But yeah, I agree with SpecialKO... at what point did passing a cop at 100 mph by driving onto the median (near an overpass no less) seem like anything other than suicidal idiocy? You don't pass by the cops. You don't run from the cops. You don't talk to the cops. You don't fuck with the cops. You pretty much don't (verb) (preposition) the cops.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that he was texting while driving, looked up, saw the cop moving slow, and yanked the wheel to put the car on the shoulder to prevent rear-ending the cop.

I saw a guy nearly flip his pickup truck on Sunday doing that...if he'd have yanked the wheel harder I bet he would have instead of just NEARLY flipping it. The unbelievable part is that 5 minutes later, I pass the guy and look over, and he's got his phone against his steering wheel, texting away again. I can just imagine his text "LOL OMG! u wont believe! I almost died! ROFL!" Fucking idiot deserves to wreck..hopefully he won't take anyone else out when he does.

If there were sand barrels to crash into I could understand all that dirt and dust, but he created an abnormally large cloud of debris. I don't think it all came from the ground - I wonder if he ruptured his fuel tank or coolant system as he went over the guard rail.

But he certainly painted the top three feet of that column black!

The comments on the article are hilarious.

Looks like this guy...

*puts on glasses*

...took the exit ramp.
...yes, I am easily amused.

The photos show clear pictures of two of the three chunks of car that were left after the crash. Apparently the driver was ejected during the crash and landed away from it.

From the pictures of the remains of the vehicle it's simply astounding that he lived at all, though I would be surprised if he survives.

Amazed he's still alive.

People like this should have their license revoked for life if you ask me.

Sadly that works against the "Dude Factor" - Trauma doctors find that the less societal worth a person has, the harder to kill they are. A charity-supporting pillar of the community will sneeze, hit his head in the bathroom, and die before someone finds him. A meth dealer busted out of prison who crashes a fuel tanker into the local kindergarten will survive being shot, stabbed, blown up, beaten, electrocuted, and burned at the same time.

Someone has been playing just a bit too much Need For Speed..... or maybe not enough? :?
Come on Shego, we all know they are not reporting the real reason for the crash. You cut his brake lines didn't you... DIDN'T YOU!? D: What did he do to deserve such a fate!

Anyways that kid is one lucky bastard for flying out of the car, it was what saved him in the end, not getting smashed into ground beef as the car broke and much of it collapsed into itself.

Fixed that for you! ;)

According to the follow-up story, he had been arrested for alcohol and drug possession earlier that morning and released less than an hour before the crash. A girl was with him when he was arrested and released to the custody of her father. She would've been in the passenger seat. And likely dead.

If that is all true, then this kid should never ever ever EVER drive again.

Maybe the girl broke up with him in jail and he decided to try and commit suicide. At 100mph, though, it's hard to tell if he's aiming for the guard rail on purpose, or has really lost control of the car.

It's true.
BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) - Brennan Eden, the driver of the car that went airborne and crashed on I-675 in Beavercreek, Ohio Aug. 23 had been arrested and released by Beavercreek Police approximately an hour before the crash occurred.

According to a statement by the Beavercreek Police Department, Eden, 19, of Mason, Ohio, was arrested at approximately 6:13 a.m.

Police said the Eden was found in his car with a juvenile female in a parking ot near the corner of Beaver Vu Dr. and N. Fairfield Rd. Police said they found an unopened can of alcohol, a trace of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia inside Eden's car.

Eden was cited for prohibition, drug paraphernalia, and drug abuse and released prior to 6:54 a.m. Police said Eden was cooperative and there were no indications he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest.

The girl was also arrested then released to the custody of her father.

Eden crashed his car at approximately 7:15 a.m. Witnesses said Brennan was passing other drivers at speeds of at least 100 mph before he drove off the left side of the roadway while passing a Sugarcreek Twp. police car. The crash was caught on that officer's cruiser camera.

Nonsense. If Shego was responsible, the kid wouldn't be alive afterwards.

No, the opposite is true. Only Shego can pull off a crash of this magnitude without killing the kid.

She likes to play with her toys, you see...

Just to clarify... just because the camera is on doesn't mean that the lights are on... it appears that said-named knucklehead wasn't paying attention, swerved to avoid the rear-end of the cop, and went ballistic. Damned shame about the car, and glad noone else was hurt. Pity he didn't take himself out, but I hope he learns his valuable lesson here.

Yeah, I thought there was a graphic on the tape that shows the status of the lights (running/not running) so that someone reviewing the tape later can tell exactly if/when the lights are engaged.
