Addams Family plot holes

I was watching the Addams Family again tonight and I noticed something that bothered me.

One of the reasons suggested for Fester leaving originally was that he and Gomez were fighting over those Siamese twin chicks. But later Gomez is talking to Morticia and talks about how he met her and proposed to her that same night. Therefore Morticia and Gomez must have met after Fester disappeared because otherwise the fight over the twins would have been moot. How then does Morticia know Fester? A few times in the movie she talks about how he used to be, but she couldn't have known him then.

Maybe Fester was friends with Morticia, but just hadn't introduced her to him yet? Then Morticia runs into Gomez later on (probably after coming around looking for Fester). Also, wasn't it just over ONE of the twin girls? I thought Gomez had been secretly flirting with both of the girls, but Fester left after finding out that he'd flirted with the one he actually liked.

Also, this is THE MOMENT I realized I know far too much about movies.

Who says he didn't find out about it after Gomez moved on from the twins and to Morticia... and that was just what broke the camels back, so to speak.

Perhaps they had the competition over the twins before Gomez met Morticia. Then, it went unresolved for a while after Gomez and Morticia got married. I've known people to keep grudges over things that have long since ceased to be relevant. Sometimes people really let things fester before the real fight happens.

Honestly, the Addams' social circle (morbid and strange high society?) can't be that wide. It seems entirely plausible that she knew Fester from some social functions and only actually met Gomez later.

Now you see, if they hadn't made that change, we wouldn't be dealing with THIS issue ether.

Only in the first series. In everything else, he's always been Gomez's brother.

Er yeah, that's what I meant to say. In the 1960s series, he was Morticia's uncle (last name Frump), for the movies and cartoons later, they changed him to gomez's brother.
