Waddayamean, they couldn't think of anything scandalous? On one side, you've got his bastard daughter, who he won't recognize and is trying to force him in front of a court for DNA to prove her royalty - and stepping aside means his son will now be untouchable just like himself, so there's no good DNA for comparison - and on the other side, the political manoeuvering to make the royalty "high" coincide with the start of our next, big and important election cycle where there's a serious, paralyzing fear that the regionalists (nationalists, it depends who you ask) will have a blocking majority and all the political games being played here. Pfah, no scandals about him stepping down. *mumbles something about being republican*
