I. WANT. THIS. GAME.

OK, now that that's out of the way, some observations:

- Is it just me or is Columbia 3 times scarier than Rapture? Maybe it's how the trailer makes good use of tension but part of it may be because it looks more..."plausible". In Rapture you fought against mutants who looked partly human but were still kinda fantastical. In here you fight against human beings who have been driven crazy apparently solely by political extremism. Granted, you fight them in an implausible turn of the century flying city but still.

- The Skylines (the rollercoaster things) look a tad confusing but pretty fun to use.

- As emotional as that scene was I have to ask: does Elizabeth have a freakishly narrow neck or does Booker have freakishly large hands?

- When Booker started shouting "WHAT DID YOU DO?" I almost wanted him to add "You invoked the dark powers of THE EIGHTIES, YOU FOOL! Do you know what could have been UNLEASHED?"

Being the fan I've been of the Bioshock series so far (if you cry about how easy it is/linear it is get over it) I'm really looking forward to this. The sheer joy of switching between so many weapons and combinations is just so much damn fun. The stories may not be the best things ever written and the "pods" make the game "too easy" but damn do I enjoy the games from beginning to end. I love the enviroments, the psychotics, the powers, the time frame, just damn well everything.

I'm really looking forward to getting this.

I guess I am the only one here really hyped for this game. All righty then. I'll share the latest news anyway:

Animatronic George Washington Terminators!

Steampunk cyborg hulks!

...THESE abominations that I made into my latest avatar!

I thought the first one was brilliant until the last 1/10th of it maybe (and Irrational was admittedly rushed and wished they could have done something better from listening to Ken Levine but 2K was unwilling to give them any time). The second game...I don't know. It was fun, don't get me wrong and the gameplay was improved but Lamb was a lame addition (hey, lookit this other power in Rapture who there happened to have been no mention of in the first game) and the story was not nearly as good. I guess the expansion to Bioshock 2 was rad but I never ended up playing it.

I am absolutely stoked for Bioshock Infinite. Fuck I am looking forward to Infinite. I know it has a release date this winter but I won't be surprised (and I will not be bummed because I want them to have as much time as they need) if it slips to 2013. I have faith in Ken Levine and Irrational.

As a side note, their podcasts are fantastic and are produced by one of the greatest podcast personalities of all time, former EGM, CGW/GFW and 1Up writer (and current Irrational level designer) Shawn Elliott.

Looking pretty fresh. I wasn't sold on the whole taking Bioshock away from Rapture, but the more I see about this game, the more I realize how much of a blessing it was to create a whole new universe.

How can a demo be infinite if it's only fifteen minutes?

Does not compute.
