Seems that this week just keeps getting better and better.
Due to the insanity yesterday, ElJuski has received a 1 point infraction for trolling and has stepped down as a mod.
I've always stood behind my mods in whatever they did but yesterday when he used the health issues of a person as a weapon against them it was mean-spirited and out of line. He realized it when he did it and he even posted in the mod forum that he was being extreme in trying to prove a point and that he'd accept the consequences.
I waited until things calmed down today to speak with him about it and we decided that it would be in the best interest of all of us if he stepped aside. It was not a spur of the moment decision, it is not a retaliatory action. But we as mods are to be held to the
same level of conduct as you. In fact, I think we should be held to a higher level. But if I let certain people get away with things that I take others to task for then I end up looking like a hypocrite and having rules would be nothing more than a humorous subpage of the boards.
I dislike doing things in the heat of the moment because it makes for bad decisions. Yesterday forced my hand a lot and I hated it but did what needed to be done. There were others who also acted badly and got nothing, but these things can't always be helped when stuff is moving here and at my work, which is what I was dealing with at the time.
In any event, ElJuski is not in an active role as a mod any longer, but Gusto has agreed to take on the mantle. Give him a few days to get his bearings and don't be too hard on the guy.
Questions and concerns can be voiced here, but I'd really like to keep it civil. I got my
icon all fired up and ready to go and I'm not afraid to use it!
