Cartoon Network 2010 Upfront

Huh. That's odd. For once I'm somewhat excited about the majority of these titles. For a moment I thought Adventure Time was the only new "animated" show they were putting on their network. Figured the rest of the line-up was just more kid reality shows and Ben Ten live-action films.

And most surprisingly of all, word on the street is that the new Scooby Doo cartoon is actually...good. Like, REAL good. No 'so bad it's good'. There's a pilot episode floating around on Youtube somewhere.

Edit:

Ah, here it is:

Huh. I might actually watch that Scooby Doo series. Finally a version of the show that laughs at it's own cheesiness and actually seems to give the characters some development.

Favorite quote so far.

Well so much for biting edge on South Park. Next thing you know they will be sucking up to Babwa Streisand. Like buttah, like buttah!

Genndy Tartakovsky MADE that network. Before his contributions in the 90s, they were basically just your 24/7 old hanna barbera cartoon channel. So when you needed to watch Jetsons meet Flinstones 37 times, there it was.

Might as well dump this here. It's a preview for Generator Rex. Looks decent.

Then Cartoon Network dropped the fan boy demographic for the little boy demographic, and kicked Genndy to the curb for 4 years. I just hope he does not get strong-armed into doing another Chowder.

I'm curious what universe it fits into as well. I loved JL/JLU, as well as the Superman and Batman series set in that universe. I'd love to see more.

WHAT THE FUCK

BUGS BUNNY AND DAFFY DUCK IN A NEW ANIMATED SERIES WITH THEM AS ROOMATES IN THE SUBURBS!?

Why Miss Martian and not Wonder Girl? Saving WG for another project maybe?

And the lack of Secret makes me sad.

I'm of two minds about Aqualad. Depends whether he's more like his original Teen Titans version or Tempest (preferable).

Except Chowder is actually good in a way. It's very surreal to be sure, but it's definitely got it's moments.

They couldn't use Wonder Girl in Teen Titans either. Same weird issues about Wonder Woman apply to her too, apparently. And the lack of Secret owes to the fact that they're basically just using the name to make a teenager super-hero show without making it Teen Titans.

Is it just me or does it look like that Robin could maybe be Damien?
