Too late. I changed it four hours and thirty-five minutes ago.

Doesn't say if we should do the same for Paypal.
I'm laughing because in changing my password I just discovered that I never changed my registered address from my college mailbox. Think I'll leave it that way in light of this.

1. Already did it first thing yesterday when I saw it hit the wires.
2. It does not appear to have affected PayPal.
3. I'm trying to remember the last thing I even purchased on eBay. I think it was pre-move.

I did both EBay and PayPal. I hadn't changed my PayPal password in a while, so it was due anyway.

Pertinent Question: why did I have to find out from my friends here instead of getting an email from eBay?

The same reason why I learned of my job demise back in '11 from a newspaper website: it was the first place I saw anything about it.
Yeah, I read the article, and if that's the case, I'm still confused as to its relevance. What I mean is, why didn't eBay send out an email to its users like a business should? This story broke yesterday--still haven't gotten an email from them. If I hadn't seen this topic, I wouldn't have known. This is not how you conduct business.

I suppose they are still circling the wagons and don't yet feel ready to announce "official" action.

No, it's on their official blog.

I just got the "change your password" e-mail from ebay an hour ago.
