I would NOT mind a sequel to the CGI remake recently done, they left it on a cliffhanger after all!Shakey said:I used to have the Sailor Moon RPG rulebook. Gave it to my friend cause I was tired of lugging it around every time I moved, and no one would play it with me.
I kinda wish we could get another TMNT live action movie. We'd probably end up with CGI turtles and real humans though.
AshburnerX said:Sailor Moon got a Live Action Series awhile back in Japan... a movie too.
Yeah, I was more referring to a American reboot movie, kinda thing.
Looking forward to this one actually.AshburnerX said:G.I. Joe is getting a movie that's coming out very soon.
Really? Please, do site some sources, cause everything I've seen and read, it'll be as awesome as it can be for what it's coming from. By no means, Transformers bad I'm sure.Wyrminarrd said:Everything I´ve heard about the G.I. Just stuff I´ve read around the web, haven't exactly been keeping a log about them :tongue:Shegokigo said:Really? What are you talking about? The Scooby Doo movies were actually pretty damn awesome... Matthew Lillard was a perfect Shaggy and the first movie was full of in-jokes that only older fans of the show would get (The smoke coming from the van, Mary Jane, the scene where Velma gets drunk and hits on Daphne, etc...). The first Casper movie was pretty good too, though the constant sequels are kinda craptacular. I'd even argue that the first Inspector Gadget movie was good.Steve said:Has there been a live action movie based on a cartoon that was good? I know what everyone thinks of Transformers, but look at Scooby Doo, Casper, Garfield, Inspector Gadget. Of all of these Transformers is by far the best.
I honestly thought there'd be a Pokemon live action by now. I'd like to see a Thundercats but considering the track record it'll blow as well. What are they doing making movies based on Saturday morning cartoons for kids instead of adults?
Dennis the Menace was actually true to source content and a great family film. So > Transformers.Steve said:Has there been a live action movie based on a cartoon that was good? What now bitches? Transformers doesn't seem so bad, huh? (Althought the first TMNT movie was decent.)
This! But I really doubt that it will ever be well done, if it's done at all. I can't think of any video game movie that I thought was done well enough to serve Zelda. I imagine it coming out looking like that prank IGN trailer from April Fools a while back... which was great, for the budget that they had to have been on, but if the whole movie looked that cheesy, I think we'd hate it.Shegokigo said:An epic and well done Zelda.
The only problem with Zelda is that all of the characters are still very flat. Link has never said anything. It's likely end up like Super Mario Bros.Shegokigo said:Power Ranger did do feature films, unless you're talking about reboots. If so, we won't see Sailor Moon, that much is certain.
HOWEVER:
I would bet SERIOUS money into seeing a Live Action Pokemon within the next 15yrs.
What I wouldn't mind seeing?
A well done Thundercats (and yes I've seen the fan trailer)
An epic and well done Zelda.
That's easy. Zelda done LOTR style.Lally said:This! But I really doubt that it will ever be well done, if it's done at all. Now, Shegokigo, in regards to Power Rangers:Steve said:Dudley Do-Right

Speed Racer (2008)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Transformers (2007)
I would say to do a reboot. For a new live-action film, take things back to square one.Shegokigo said:Power Ranger did do feature films, unless you're talking about reboots.
You know about this, right?filmfanatic said:Robotech
Oh wait, nevermind.filmfanatic said:(if handled correctly, of course)
No, I agree it would be awesome if done in LOTR style... but what I mean is, video games don't get the respect to get that kind of treatment. It's just going to be made as some cheesy mess. I'm hoping there's some video game movie out there that I'm forgetting that did get a good treatment, but I can't think of any.Shegokigo said:That's easy. Zelda done LOTR style.Lally said:This! Yes I know his character has always been "flat", didn't make the stories any less interesting.
I know somebody wants to do a Tintin movie... I think it was Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg. But that was supposed to be a CGI movie.Rob King said:The Adventures of Tintin
It should have been BRIAN BLESSED.Wahad said:There's two or three live-action Asterix movies already. Mission Cleopatra, A&O contra Caesar...maybe another, but I'm not sure. Gerard Depardieu plays Obelix.

Already have had movies, while Pokemon is too huge as an anime (the year the first Pokemon movie came out, it profitted more than most)filmfanatic said:Hey guys. For a while now, there has been a trend of taking cartoons and making live-action films out of them. So, thus I have begun to ponder what shows from my youth will eventually make the chopping block that is the live-action Hollywood adaptation. I've decided to extend the question now to all of you Halforumites. What television programs from your childhood past do you think Hollywood will eventually try to mine?
Personally, shows that I had once watched I think will hit the big screen at some point include:
Pokemon
Sailor Moon
Freakazoid
Johnny Bravo
Power Rangers
You just lost all credibility with that statement. I don't know what cult made that movie a hit but lock them up and keep them away from society. I'm assuming they are all into Hello Kitty and worship Tara Reid.Shegokigo said:Josie and the Pussycats happens to be a cult hit and one of my favorite movies.
I know that Pokemon and Sailor Moon have had films, but I do think we'll see Hollywood try to make live-action films out of them in the States. With Power Rangers, as I said, I could see them doing a reboot and just take things back to basics.JCM said:Already have had movies, while Pokemon is too huge as an anime (the year the first Pokemon movie came out, it profitted more than most)filmfanatic said:Hey guys. Johny Bravo and Freakazoid are relatively small and unknown compared to most cartoons. So Im guessing its either Thundercats/another He-man movie, or a Ben 10
They are supposedly working on some more ReBoot movies. They already have an online comic.lafftaff said:If they could find a proper way to do Reboot I would love to see that.
My other childhood cartoons would make terrible movies. I don't think there's any way to properly put Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, Popples, or Doug in live-action movie form.
Not sure about that, really. Part of SJ's appeal was the stylized animation.Mr. Lawface said:If done right, a live action Samurai Jack movie would be epic.
It would be very hard to do right.Wahad said:Not sure about that, really. Part of SJ's appeal was the stylized animation.Mr. Lawface said:If done right, a live action Samurai Jack movie would be epic.
I googled that and instantly recognized the toys. I can't remember a thing about the series plot, characters or anything else, but I remember the toys and their interchangeable parts.Aisaku said:One that I'm willing to bet will never get made is Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
How did I not think of this, that would be amazing.ThatNickGuy said:Gargoyles (hey, Disney's starting to bring back old school animation. I don't think it could be pulled off in live action)
With who? You? Someone who thinks Transformers was a succesful movie about something they didn't even feature? I'll take that as a compliment.Steve said:You just lost all credibility with that statement.
I have no idea how you associate those two things with Josie, I REALLY don't.Steve said:I don't know what cult made that movie a hit but lock them up and keep them away from society. I'm assuming they are all into Hello Kitty and worship Tara Reid.
Guess you missed the part where I said a successful family film, you know the kind, the ones that don't have a ton of curse words and even more violence.Steve said:Denise the Menace would have been awesome had I been 5 when it came out.
Welcome for what? Proving my point completely? Well thank you then.Steve said:The first Transformers kicks all their back ends. You're welcome.
I have always been a huge fan, I own the entire series on DVD and watch them every couple of months. I used to think this couldn't be done either, but after watching Sin City and The Spirit, it's obvious that stylized live action can be done, it's just hard to pull off everytime.Mr. Lawface said:If done right, a live action Samurai Jack movie would be epic.
Okay now, that's the one which I don't really want to see them try. Not because I don't think it would turn out well, but just because of the sheer quality of the original series.Mr. Lawface said:If done right, a live action Samurai Jack movie would be epic.
Besides, Makoto "Mako" Iwamatsu, the voice of Ako, has been dead for at least 2-3 years. It wouldn't be right without at least HIM returning from the original cast.filmfanatic said:Okay now, that's the one which I don't really want to see them try. I remember it fondly as the closest thing we got to Star Wars in the saturday morning cartoon era.figmentPez said:I googled that and instantly recognized the toys. I totally forgot about Gargoyles! Such an awesome show.PhantomShadow said:Gargoyles
I still don't understand how any of this hurts the original of anything. If this were true, William Shakespeare's plays would be the worst shit ever written.filmfanatic said:Okay now, that's the one which I don't really want to see them try. I don't think a live-action Samurai Jack film would hurt the original series. I guess that best way to phrase it is that it's just great how it is and I hope to see it stay like that.Charlie Dont Surf said:I still don't understand how any of this hurts the original of anything. You see, because it is adapted over and over and over and is still some of the greatest writing of all-time.
I give you Australia:Frankie said:I want this cartoon made into a movie and I want an Australian Wolverine.
