What we need are people who examine all the facts, not just the ones that support their arguments. Now THAT would be an interesting show to watch. A kind of Politifact.com, only in t.v. form.

Interesting. And with the death of Net Neutrality does this mean that Comcast will start throttling back traffic speed to left-leaning web sites? It's entirely within the realm of possibility and it's now totally legal!! Thanks backward-looking Congressional idiots who care more about big business than the people!

We could start a grass-roots movement about it, but as Comcast could just buy more ads we'd lose and it's perfectly legal!!! Thanks Supreme Court who is strangely blinded to the consequences of overturning 100 year old laws!

I'm not a Tea Party guy but I see some scary things shaping up. Not saying they will happen, but they very well could under our current laws and there would be nothing we could say because it would be legal. Ethical? Who cares about that? it's legal!

That Poker and Politics show looks like pretty much the worst fucking thing ever to be put on TV. Their personal politics aside.

Does anyone else find it both hilarious and disheartening that the most successful and respected news program on TV right now is on COMEDY CENTRAL and is supposed to be a joke news program? Jon Stewart is the most hard hitting journalist on TV these day and he is disgusted by that fact.

Quoted for fucking Truth, my friend. Q.F.T.

Stewart does not let ANYONE get away with shit. He hits the left and the right equally. Only he shows the hypocrisy spewing from both sides.

Ooooh. Yeah, I'm gonna have to kind of go ahead and disagree with you there? Yeah.

He hits the left about as often as I hit the right - as in, he does do it on a number of occasions, but his bias is evident.

Argh I hate to agree with you. Although I would say that the disparity between who he calls out isn't too lopsided maybe 60-40 or 70-30 (conserv/repub-liberals/demo), which is a hell of a lot better than 95% of the other people out there.

Also I'de say they are more commentary about the news and news reporters than other outlets, if you got purely 100% of your news from there you would be way out of context for most of the jokes or reasonings.

I would also posit that the political climate in the last 10 years has made pointing out the crazy, batshit nuts, off the fucking wall things republicans do getting 70% of Stewarts ire is about equal to the level of calling out they get. When a Democrat in the HoR or Congress says we should ask for a presidents birth certificate long after they already produced it, I guess I can see them being called out more.

Perhaps. But just because you agree with the bias doesn't make it unbiased. After all, for every Republicrat demanding a birth certificate, there's a Demican worried that stationing more troops on Guam will make it capsize.

Yeah, I would be really careful to try and paint any party as the home of the nutjob... that won't end well no matter what side you are on.

How about people go back through the thread and read how I said they both have nut jobs and says stupid shit. I'm only saying that in the last 10 years, the right has ramped up the crazy to make the Democrats look like the weird uncle you don't want babysitting your kids as opposed to the guy speaking in tongues and carving swastika's in his forehead.

First, I fixed your typo (I assume it is, since you couldn't be so childish as to write Demican on purpose) and I laughed at that guy too, as did John Stewart. Not sure how this proves that I'm letting my bias get in the way of noticing which party is crazier lately.

I did write "Republicrat" and "Demican" on purpose, to illustrate my assertion that they're interchangable in end result, quite often. They both want strong national government calling the shots and decreasing personal liberty, just in different areas. Secondly, of course both you and Stewart laughed at that guy, how could you not? I was showing there was crazy on both sides. Alan Grayson, Maxine Waters, Grand Poobah Nancy herself, the list goes on just as long as that on the other side. And as I said, on numerous occasions Stewart will make fun of them too... but just like me, his bias is visibly on his sleeve, just in the other direction.
