This will be the first release of major new features since XenForo 1.0. There are lots of things going in, some of which we have hinted at in posts around the forum. There are also a few things that we had originally slated for 1.1 that will now be pushed back to a later release in favour of getting 1.1 out sooner with an array of completed features.

Here are a few features that will be in XenForo 1.1:

  • Right-to-left layout mode for Arabic (etc.) language support
  • Thread prefixes, definable at a per-forum and a per-user group basis
  • Warnings for trouble-making users
  • Ability for members to ignore other members
  • Custom user profile fields
  • Daily statistics
  • Admin CP search
  • Improved admin and moderator logging
  • Additional thread viewing permissions
  • Criteria-based user group promotions
  • A notice system to display messages to your users in certain circumstances
This is not an exhaustive list. We will expand the feature list over time, but some improvements may be a surprise with the release itself.

We will be detailing many of the features of XenForo 1.1 over time via the Have You Seen...? forum.

XenForo 1.1 will be released this Summer.

Update on the arcade!

A developer at XenForo stated that he wanted to gauge interest in an arcade addon. A bunch of us each donated $100 (one guy donated $500-1000!!) for the dev to get to work. Point being this is his new priority and an Arcade will be coming very soon. I'll keep you posted as I learn more.

And no I don't have anything for you yet, Jay.

Quick note:

Because a bunch of us threw money into the pot, they are now working seriously on the Arcade. The following will be information and a feature list, all from the devs. I have access to a special, private board on their site now where I'll get news and reports about it. So without further ado....

Private beta is just that, private. I will post any beta releases in this thread for downloading and testing. All errors or issues must be posted in XFA Pioneers forum otherwise I will miss getting them fixed.

So far the first version will be 0.0.1 Beta.

I expect to have a private beta ready in 1 to 2 weeks. That is not a promise nor set in stone, things can arise in my real life slowing things down but that is what I expect to happen release wise for private beta.

Please note that I have all of the games saved that we had before. I'm not sure about the scores, but I'll see what I can do.

The only question is, do we want to wait until it goes gold before we install it here or do you want to help be guinea pigs?
