From what I've read, the company licensing the C64 form factor hasn't made its royalty payments, and they've got $250,000 due. This might go away. Other than that, neato.

I loved my C64. I really did. Still, the only way I'd buy this is because of the Blu-Ray. I loved my C64 but I also loved my 8 track player.

It's basically just a regular PC (albiet with mobile/economy CPU and GPU) inside a C64-looking shell. You could almost say it's a laptop without a lid/screen. Thing is, it comes without an operating system installed... they give you linux on a disk, and apparently it comes with a bootable C64 emulator and collection of disk images. The article calls it a "windows PC" but it's really not.

They're also releasing Vic and Amiga themed computers. http://www.commodoreusa.net/CUSA_Home.aspx

Overall, these look really pointless, except for making money off of nostalgia.
