Crazy People With Loud Voices

Dave

I was listening to Tom Brazelton's Triple Feature on TalkShoe. When it was done, I thought I'd see what else was going on around the TalkShoe world.

Ho. Lee. Shit. I stumbled on this guy and thought I'd give it a listen to see what he was about. I started on Episode 7 because it's short for him and the VERY first thing he talked about was the fact that contrails behind airplanes are there because the Obama administration (which he called Lord Obination and the New World Order) puts aerosol canisters in the planes which give out diseases and such to get the world infected. What's going to be happening is that Obama will be vaccinating the populace...but the 4th shot will KILL YOU!!

This guy is SUPER religious and crazy as a fucking loon.

That vaccination thing, wasn't that a plot of the new V Mini-series?

Never watched it. If it is it's even funnier. I'd listen to more of his whacked out shows but they are all like 4+ hours!

It was in V because Obama is crazy like the Riddler, he has to let the secret out through his wholly-owned, left-leaning media.

I need to become a nut-job.

Oh no, now they're on to us... there's only one thing to do... make the 5th one kill y'all. You'll never see it coming now.

He said later in the thing that the Pope was evil and that he needed a security detail because real Christian Warriors would get him.

Oh, and he was a true Christian because he came to Christ after being a worshiper of Satan and that it was a good idea to do it that way because it gave you an appreciation of the capabilities of the enemy.

Best way to know God? Worship Satan first.

If it wasn't so scary it would be hilarious!

No you don't. The benefits suck, and we've been union-busted like three times.

Also: Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh

Ha, there's this guy who posts flyers all over Tucson that talk about Chemtrails and how if you want the truth you should go to his YouTube channel. They're probably good friends.

Indeed. I realise that nothing has been proven re: the other two, but... did this guy also rape and murder a young girl in 1991? This is an important question that needs to be addressed.

Was that something he talked about? I missed that. Or were you referencing something else I missed?

Google glenn beck 1991 rape...

Iaculus just didn't do it very well.

1990. And I had to read the Wiki article to know about this. Wish I hadn't.

I googled Glenn Beck as googling 1991 didn't bring anything up. 1990 is the year. My Googlefu is not weak. As I said, I read about it but think the whole stunt is stupid and wish Beck would have won his court case.

free speech is free, Beck does similar attacks all the time. Granted nowhere as overboard as that.

If I walked out on the street and said (or printed) "Sixpackshaker downloads child porn and rapes old ladies." that is a crime. I fail to see why this is different. Free speech does NOT allow for defamatory or slanderous accusations without proof. Whether Glenn Beck does so in a smaller capacity is immaterial. The guy who made this site should have lost this fight and the only thing that stopped it from moving up the chain of appellate courts was that he wised up and took it down.

http://didglennbeckrapeandmurderayounggirlin1990.com/

he didn't take it down. The site also never said Glenn Beck did those things. It just asked why he never denied doing them. That was the point.

#19

Dave

Dave

That is a different site. the one in question is not "Did Glenn Beck..." but is instead "Glenn Beck..." which is still skirting the line but is at least not making a statement of fact.

yeah..that's a little too close to actual defamation for my personal tastes, too. But after reading the site, I wouldn't have come to the conclusion that it was anything other than satirical criticism.

The site you are looking at is not the site in question. The site in question is www.GlennBeckRapedAndMurderedAYoungGirlIn1990.com and is taken down. And even satirical in nature, the name itself is defamatory. The court got it wrong and this probably would have been overturned on appeal.

Yes, but Dave if you don't like someone it's cool to say they raped and murdered someone because you don't like them.

And the Yes Men impersonation of Chamber of Commerce officials are parody.

I know the site in question, Dave. I saw it some time last year, I think via a digg link. And yes, that one is down. Sorry for not being clear that I was agreeing with you that they were two different sites.

And I've already mentioned that the URL is too close to defamatory for my personal tastes (though I certainly can't speak for the judicial system), though the sites contents quickly made it clear to me what it was all about.

Glenn Beck says- "I learned it from you!"

It's not right when people do it to Beck. It's not right when Beck does it.

So who did Glenn Beck say raped and murdered someone?

#27

@Li3n

@Li3n

I think the judge was smart enough to get that the name of the site wasn't as important as it's actual content... man, did the site owner get lucky.

So who did Glenn Beck say raped and murdered someone?
I don't know about rape, but i heard Obama wan't to kill the old with health care... now isn't that interesting.

It's not right when people do it to Beck. It's not right when Beck does it.
When you do something you lose the right to complain about it being done back to you... it's one of the rules.

When you do something you lose the right to complain about it being done back to you... it's one of the rules.
By that rule then those against him have just given up their right to complain when he does it to them... IT NEVER ENDS.

If I cut someone off in traffic I can't use the excuse "they did it first!" It doesn't work. I don't know most of the things Beck has done because I don't watch him. But this guy was wrong to do what he did and no justification in the world can make it right.

Well sure, if he decides to satirize them they can't really complain.

If I cut someone off in traffic I can't use the excuse "they did it first!"
That's because the cops are acting in your stead, as per the existing social contract... which remind me, when is Lost coming back?

Oh I thought this thread was gonna be about Tina's reappearance here at Halforums.

Our pet llama seems to have caught a case of beautiful Beatlemania.
