Nameless's Rod of Folly. (1lb - Normal weapon)

Description: The Nameless's Rod of Folly is an unusual item that will attempt to perform either one of two things. It will attempt to show you what you want most, either in the present or from a thought coming from your memories. This allows the Nameless's Rod of Folly to transform in a very special way which can be very odd when different people are looking upon the item. Physical contact with the item causes an continual and uncontrollable urge to laugh hysterically, to the point that you'll essentially fail at what you are doing and causing you to get a seizure. Laughing is bad when you try to sneak around.

Daily Power: When used, the rod will change the caster’s color of clothes to a random color depending on what Nameless is thinking of at the time. However, the caster will be magically forced to giggle at random moments and say things like , “Egad!”, "Do you like my ensemble?" and "Lout!" and consistently commenting on the color of the change of their clothes for the next hour. This must be done in character.

Daily Power : While holding the item in your hands, if you resist its abilities you receive a +5 to Bluffing and Thievery as you will be one charismatic lout.

This item holds no value as far as you can tell. Selling this may anger the Gods anyways and you don't want that.

(from what you gathered, THUS FAR... yes there's more)

Looking forward to the game tonight. hopefully i can finish the test quickly and not be too late, or not late at all hopefully.

Ok, here is my arguement for keeping the Cloak. The best people to use it would be me, tyrdin and falagar. both tyrdin and falagar already have an unlimited light source, but i only have the lantern and non renewable oils. as for the dagger, i assume its going to me as Jay seems to be trying to gear the dagger for me, but we can discuss that more when he posts the dagger.

Tyrdin's mother's death theme song

Warrick's letter content and magical dagger item will be revealed tonight when I get home.

When possible, discuss last night's session. Another close call.

Seriously tho.

Tyrdin's mom's death was fucked up.

I do want to ask Jay though-- What better could we have done to save her?

1) She was off the altar and out of the mist's reach by Tyrdin's first turn.
2) She was healing potion'd
3) She was healed with Tyrdin's powers
4) She was taken out of the room so she would not take any battle damage

So, should we just have killed the Dragonborn faster? I don't see much else we could have done.

Granted, blowing her head to pieces didn't help much.

Am I able to retrain powers at all, or should I wait for a level-up? I'm still kind of feeling out what helps and what doesn't.

Really, I haven't even been able to use Freezing Burst that much. But I think I'll keep that.

Officially, this would be an ideal time for an extended rest. End of day. Dairy galore! DM requests. Discussions. So yeah!

Retraining? Already? Whhhyyy

s'a pretty good dagger.

Anyway, I was mostly asking if I'm still able to, or if I kind of already used up my free retrains.

Wizards have a lot of very different powers to choose from. ._.

I'm finding that 2 large area attacks that can't miss is a bit much, because I can rarely use them without hitting my allies, and since they can't miss I -know- I'll hit my allies.

I'm just looking at different stuff.

Take a few days to mull it over and tell me what you want to do, I have no issues... however there will be matter about compensation.... in a form of an in character Falagar journal entry.

We've been playing Jay's game for 6 months already?

The hell, it feels like only like 2 or 3.

Maybe it's because we're only on our THIRD DAY.

At first we did Shawn's game and mine alternatively and a few sessions were canceled due to RL and the holidays. Still my longest game ever!

Dagger is yours. As for the cloak, the hierarchy of who can use its power is...

Falagar
Tyrdin
Rathkor
Sylvaria
Helga

However, that minor based on Cha/Int is just one part of its actions, and RP-wise it makes sense for Sylvaria as being a little girl scared of the dark, plus you'll be getting the dagger.

Also, are we having a game next week? I told Jay we'd put it to vote, and I'm voting yes myself and suggesting we take a break the following week. I'll accept whatever the outcome is though.

Robe of Scintillation, not cloak. I do not give cloaks in my game! Those are reserved for my cool villains!

so were giving the int/cha ROBE to the wis heavy julie based solely on the fact that everyone is ascared of Julie? congrats then, i suppose.

look, it doesnt even ave to go to me, even though i do want it. but i would rather it go to someone who can FULLY utalize it. thats just my thoughts anyway. and its the last ill say about it. if you all REALLY want to give it to julie, go ahead.
Added at: 00:27
well gusto, im not sure who between me, tyrdin, and falagar who can make the BEST use out of the daily, thats why i suggested one of us three. so its not just between me and julie. if you think one of the other two could make better use of it than me, feel free to vote for one of them as well.

Man. Just looking at this again.

Are 4 of our 5 party members REALLY clothies!?

REALLY!?

Our party is less balanced than I thought.

Our party isn't balanced at all.

You're the only melee, and everyone else is magic. We have one kind-of healer. We have no stealthies, I only just now trained in Thievery, barely any perception, etc.

Also, Rathy, why does crunching the numbers matter so much? It's a once-a-day ability, and we have about one day every two months.

If somebody wants something, that's all the reason someone needs to be entitled to it.

Plus, here's the magic item breakdown:

Falagar: Goggles, Gauntlets, "Hedge Wizard's Gloves", Boots, 2 rituals, and more
Rathkor: Dagger, Polyglot Gem, The Green Ring
Tyrdin: Broach, something else
Helga: Nothing, but doesn't want robe
Sylvaria: Nothing, wants robe

without the crunching of numbers, what is a rpg? and for that matter, what would stop me from laying claim to the next magical craghammer we come across? just saying. if julie is mad she has no magical items, blame Jay.

See, there you go.

But see, you don't use Craghammers and Rathkor has no desire for craghammers.

Sylvaria has a use for Robes and has a desire for robes.

Also, hitting someone with a craghammer isn't a daily, so you'd fail at it far more often.

Crunching numbers is dice-rolling, not role-playing. If people want to number crunch, I'd rather they did it by actually planning shit together in-battle, because everyone in our battles seems to act like a one-man army. I think if we looked over each other's character sheets, that'd be worthwhile number crunching.

As for the robe, Falagar and I can make better use of that daily power because we each have an Int/Cha stat higher than anyone else's. But it's not the entire use of the robe, and it's not that great of a power. The light sourcing is probably much more useful along with the bonus stats.

If it's going to continue being an issue, then you and Julie can roll for it when we start the next session. That's how we've done things during situations like this in the past, because this is not the first time it's happened and it isn't a big deal. BTW no one has "Julie fear." I told her to her face after the game that she was acting like a child. That said, so were you. There's no reason for either of you to get heated or take it personally, so if neither of you can handle the oh-so-heavy emotional weight of distributing imaginary items in a fun game, then let the dice decide.

On more important matters: are we having a session this week? Yes, no? There's only one vote so far (me) and that's a yes.
