so, What should I roll now. I have a Genasi Swordmage I would like to try out, but I'll still leave things open to suggestion from the rest of the party.

I don't think we need another tank...

I'd be cool with sticking to the ranged striker idea - maybe a warlock, a ranger, a ranged build of rogue, or even just another type of sorcerer.

If you wanna try a melee striker, monks are fun as hell to play.

Well, the swordmage seems like a mix of Tank and controller, and has skills that would make Flanking rediculously easy. plus its a controller that would still be useful in solos. I see some potential in the build, and would like to experiment a bit with it. I also have a Cavalier, which seems to be a Tank Healer. I could make another Ranged Striker, or you can just kill Tyrdin for killing the ranged Striker. I mean, he no longer heals and we have a Contoller already, so what would we lose. lol jkjkjk. I just dont want to build another sorcerer, Its just too soon. :'( lol

Personally, I'd really would like not having another controller. As a DM who has to create combat encounters, it kinda pigeon-holes me to a few certain types of encounters to please the players. I'd like to avoid that. This group clearly lacks striker power as the HP totals on many creatures have been lowered significantly, especially on the elite/solo side of things so that game sessions don't end up being... Frank the Tank length.

As far as the murder goes, I'd rate it a cool 5/10. So much preparation in plots yet resorted to an early opportunity that managed to succeed at a great expense of one's integrity and will have dire consequences indeed.

IMO if Saryon would have seen this, he'd be pissed off and attack you. Simkin would surely plot a way to secretly dispatch you shortly while sleeping with an eye open and if it was Kraag, he'd flatten you with his maul on the spot before you finished cheering. But eh, a few harsh words and walk away? *yawn*

;)

Well Rusty just doesn't have the shared experiences to react in any way other than disgust and condescension. I expected Helga to have a stronger reaction and Falagar once informed to have some strong opinions. There is also the wait because Tyrdin might be useful in the dream world and deal with it outside option.

So you want to throw out all the hard work you have done with unique character plot lines and have new characters every few sessions?

I have made another Ranged Striker. I think Ima keep things under wraps for now. I'll Use the Rathkor Revanant for now, and use the next couple weeks to shape my new character's personality and goals. Jay, I'll message you with what I have probably monday, as I am literally about to head out the door and I most likely won't even step foot in my appartment untill Sunday evening.

On a relataed note, starting tonight at 6 untill Sunday around 6ish, I will be working with a group who is running an online charity Gaming Marathon. feel free to check it out and tell your friends about it.

The next time Tyrdin does something even remotely anti-party, or as soon as we're in a safe place, Helga will reprimand Tyrdin further. What kind of a speech would "don't kill party members and ESPECIALLY don't do it in a situation where any distraction could get us all killed" be if Helga turns around and does it to Tyrdin immediately?

Not that I think Tyrdin could beat me one-on-one, or certainly not now, but my last two healing surges will be spent getting the remainder of the group out of the HPOD alive.

Hey Jay, I need a ruling.

My Bull Charge encounter, on a hit, pushes back the target one square, then I can shift into the vacated square and make a secondary attack to knock it prone. With the Rusher's Cleats I just got, I'd end up knocking him TWO spaces back.

Does this mean I shift TWO squares so that I'm adjacent for the secondary attack, or does it mean that I choose how far I push him and I can shift one and make a secondary attack if he's within range? I see a lot of different opportunities for rules here.

If you choose to apply the extra push, you shift 1 square and if you have reach you can still make the secondary attack, if you don't have reach you forfeit the secondary attack.

Yeah that's basically what I thought. Generally I'll want to use the secondary attack, but if pushing the dude two squares would cause him to fall off a cliff or into a fire pit or something, then that's nice to have.

My polearm master recently tossed a pair of battledroids 7 squares away before they each fell into the reactor core.

And if you want to push them off a cliff, the worst result is they fall prone, so secondary attack benefit is guaranteed.

My halberd-wielding storm warden recently caused 4 attacking pirates to be marked, windblown and slid in the 2 foot gap between the two boats. The rocking of the boats in the waves resulted in some bloody smears on the sides.

Come and Get It + Action Point + Scattering Swing = my marquee manoeuvre!

Every enemy in sight ends up prone and bunched together while being marked by me.

Pretty much what HC said.

If they aren't going to be much use, I'll take them back and delete them and give the party extra random loot in the next room. There was 3 different loot options in this encounter, I rolled this instead of the other two. If I take them back next room will be a 2 out of 4.

^.^

Or else 1 out of 3.

:awesome:

I can think of a worse fate than not being a striker.

The only limitation I've seen is a request not to roll another Controller. For my sake. :)

I think it kind of sucks that a person is stuck in a particular role if they die alone...
Well then you shouldn't have killed him! ;) :awesome:

It's not great but honestly, we're a group of five, there's only so much we can do. If you or Falagar died, we'd be okay with you rolling whatever, since we'd still have one controller. Without Rathkor, we have no striker, which sucks and is double-bad considering HC's warlord build.

Dont worry you guys, I'm actually pretty happy with the build I've made. Should be interesting.

I read it. I'll PM you a short story involving Rathkor's encounter with the Raven Queen, and if it checks out with you, I'll post it here.
