I don't know; it's gonna drag on Jay's game, and there's still gonna be the occasional week where we (or at least I) might need a break.

Although I kind of wish we'd played tonight even though I'm the one who urged Jay we take a break :p. So maybe listening to me is a bad idea.

Also, people count, 1. Jay, 2. Gusto, 3. Doom, 4. Rathkor, 5. Mind, 6. HC, 7. Me.... we going for six players again? Also, I'd rather Doom had wanted to rather than everyone going "come on, do it!" when he's already running games. Before it was Shawn wanting to do less games, and then both Julie and Jay wanted into the slot. Here it's, we were doing okay, but everyone's having fun coming up with cool characters (which is great) and then suddenly "Doom! Do game!"

That said, I'm in no way discouraging stuff if Jay wants more time to ease from DMing and a chance to play too. I'm just trying to keep everyone's heads straight with what's going on.

What if it was 3 weeks jay 1-2 weeks pick up game? You can keep the same characters or bring in new ones and just alternating players and what not and just work your way through Dungeon Delve.

I have no issue with once a month. In fact breaks are good and plus I can play as a player which is nice for a change.

Anyways, tonight would have been off anyways, GO HABS GO!

Are people bored of their characters?

Sorry my Barbarian is dual classing as a Bard.... the Singing Brute of Tempus.

DMs get first dibs on alt-game sessions.

I am interested, I just don't know how well I can make 3-4 hours once evey 4 weeks worthwhile. I'm still technically a "new" DM and my pacing could probably be better. Like I said, I've had battles go on for 5 hours. In my game we played for 12 hours at a time for a few months and we're only in Day 2 I think.

But hey, if you guys really want to, I could agree to DMing Jay's next "break" day and just seeing how it goes. If everyone's on board I'll throw something together and see what I can do.

Our future possible group? Usually it's all ragtag. HC seems to make his characters revolve around mine sometimes. In Shawn's game once we had a prequel session that helped explain the past relationships and meetings of characters.

Typically it's like, we're all in the same place when something terrible happens, and we all ave our own reasons for wanting to help, and so band together.

Oh, well, no. I meant that all in-game.

In the planning process of the game, we try to have one Defender and then balance out Strikers, Controllers, and probably only one Leader.

Right now it looks as if Rathkor is calling INT-based Defender, I'm calling CHA-based Leader, and Jay's called a STR-based Striker.

So if you choose to play a Monk, you'd probably be better off with the DEX/WIS spec to round out the group a bit more (and believe me, it's an awesome spec) and then hopefully HC will roll up a Controller.

Oh, and I forgot about Darryl. :) With 6 players, you have a lot of options.

Basically we try to balance out roles and stats, and make sure at least one PC is trained in every skill.

I would be fine playing the Defender--I have experience with it, after all. I had actually rolled up a cool paladin, but his story is really a better fit for Jay's game, and since we have a Defender there, I'll like have to retool him as an Avenger if Tyrdin ever dies.

I'll come up with something suitably silly for my Paladin for this game. Gnoll Paladin? Drow Paladin? Shardmind Paladin? Gnome Paladin? Kenku Paladin? There's so much potential for the ridiculous.

Ridiculous reminds me, I wish there was some system online for dealing with the cards, because I'd love to one-shot a Gamma World with people older than 8 years.

Should we try to do the DM a favor for once and actually collaborate on stories, relations, etc. beforehand, or just make things really hard for Doom, like some of us being evil character and some being lawful good, and all different races from different lands? I'd actually love to have my character have a real connection with someone else's for a change.

I'm not going ridiculous. :( This is a real character.

Female eladrin bard, virtue of cunning, chaotic/neutral good. Comes from a sheltered village that exists in the Feywild during the day and the Prime Material at night, so unless we're starting above first level, it's unlikely she's met any other PCs.

Maybe Doom can start a new thread for this...?

Good idea.

Doom, make a new thread! And get on with Falagar's hate lists! And dance and sing for us!

Actually, if I make a character with the backstory of the Rogue I was planning, and there's a Goliath in the party, there could be trouble from the beginning...
